Game Over Not Over for Me novel Chapter 77

**TITLE: She Bloomed Like Spring After Surviving a Winter No One Saw by Lillian Rosewood**

**Chapter 77: Confrontation**

Leona had scarcely concluded her statement when a sharp voice sliced through the tense atmosphere of the hall.

“Speculation from a senator is entirely inappropriate,” Fiona asserted, her tone dripping with authority. “However, I must inform you that my associates recently had a meeting with the Frost King.

According to him, he claims to be the one who assisted you in eliminating the Demon King’s son, Grayson.”

The words reverberated through the grand hall like a clap of thunder, causing a ripple of unease among the gathered nobles.

King Abraxis, seated upon his imposing throne, leaned forward, his interest piqued.

“Leona, is what she said true?”

A shadow crossed Leona’s face, her heart racing.

This was the moment she had anticipated, the moment that she and Alden had meticulously prepared for.

If she were to deny it outright, it would cast doubt on her integrity in the eyes of the king.

“Father, Mother, anyone I sought help from swore an oath of secrecy. If Mother possesses evidence of our collaboration, she ought to present it.”

Her words, while not a direct falsehood, painted her as loyal and steadfast.

Yet, they also stirred a sense of discomfort among the onlookers.

If it truly was not the Frost King she had allied with, she could have simply dismissed the claim entirely. There would have been no need for further elaboration.

But her decision to speak more only served to deepen the suspicions swirling in the hall.

Fiona’s smile was subtle, almost predatory.

“What a fortunate coincidence. My people have brought the Frost King here. If we summon him, we can resolve this matter face-to-face. What do you think?”

Leona’s heart sank at the prospect.

She had anticipated this confrontation, yet the reality of it was still daunting.

King Abraxis raised an eyebrow, his curiosity evident. “Bring him in.”

Clarice entered the grand hall, Alden by her side, and every eye followed him with a mix of awe and apprehension.

A million PK Points—such a number had not graced Astralon in years.

Those few who had ever reached such heights were notorious, feared figures in the realm.

To the gathered nobles, Alden was no exception.

“Frost King,” King Abraxis began, his voice steady and commanding, “my queen alleges that you were responsible for Grayson’s death. Is that indeed the case?”

Alden nodded, his expression unwavering. “I did kill Grayson.”

Leona’s eyes widened in shock, and she snapped at him, “Frost King, think carefully before you speak! Don’t make reckless claims in this hall.”

King Abraxis raised a hand, silencing her with a gesture.

“If you did kill Grayson, then I demand you explain precisely how you accomplished it,” the king commanded, his tone brooking no argument.

Alden produced an artifact from his possession, one that Clarice had prepared for him earlier.

“Using this. It grants me the ability to bypass formations and enter the Starshard Well.”

The king’s gaze lingered on the artifact resting in Alden’s palm, curiosity mingling with scrutiny.

Alden made no effort to conceal its properties, ensuring that all present could see its potential.

“Even so,” King Abraxis countered, “that does not necessarily mean you possess the strength to kill Grayson.

To be frank, your level isn’t even sufficient to breach his defenses.”

Alden’s voice remained steady, imbued with confidence.

“Not if my attacks inflict True Damage.”

The king’s eyes narrowed, his interest sharpening.

“Guards.”

A general clad in gold armor stepped forward, awaiting orders.

“Test your True Damage on him,” the king instructed.

Alden raised his bow, releasing an arrow that shot forth with a sharp whistle, slicing through the air.

And this was precisely the outcome Alden had envisioned.

He had managed to turn the tide in his favor while maintaining Fiona’s trust.

Two victories with a single maneuver.

Though Leona might have lost the Astralon Chamber of Commerce for the time being, she had gained the respect of several influential ministers.

There would be other opportunities to reclaim the chamber.

“Frost King, do you possess any proof that you collaborated with Princess Leona?”

Alden shook his head, a subtle smile playing at the corners of his lips.

He had achieved the result he desired.

“No. She only offered me her word, and I have yet to receive anything tangible from her.”

King Abraxis’s gaze sharpened, his scrutiny intensifying. “Frost King, you are a perilous individual. I could have you detained for your presence here.”

“Your Majesty, I haven’t harmed anyone in the main city. You are free to expel me if you wish.”

A cold smile crept across Abraxis’s face. “I am the King of Astralon. I have the power to do more than simply throw you out. I could imprison you for two weeks.

You adventurers seem eager to grow stronger. A fortnight in confinement would significantly hinder your progress.”

Alden remained silent, patiently awaiting the moment when Fiona would intervene.

His audacity in attending this gathering suggested he was unafraid of imprisonment.

For he knew that Fiona would have to shield him from the king’s wrath. If she failed to do so, he would ensure she faced the consequences.

And Fiona was acutely aware of that fact.

After a moment of contemplation, she finally spoke up. “Your Majesty, I was the one who brought him here. If you examine his PK points, you will see they have diminished by a hundred thousand. This indicates he has been striving to make amends. Why not grant him an opportunity to prove himself?”

“Hmmm?”

King Abraxis raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “And what sort of opportunity do you propose?”

“Open a dungeon for him. The Footprints of the Snow Corpse. If he can clear it, his PK points will decrease even further.”
