Chapter 1285: The Best [Bonus]

[Bonus Chapter thanks to Kalinus <3]

Aurex’s eyes flashed and he realized that he wouldn’t be able to control the situation himself anymore. He didn’t know Sylas, so he also had no idea that the kid had actually done this on purpose. In fact, he was still under the impression that whatever happened here had far more to do with the C-tier following Sylas than Sylas himself.

"That might be for the best."

"Before this goes any further, I should say that I was well aware that my actions would alert the mesh systems here. It was a necessary precaution in case a certain member of the Lion Lineage overstepped their bounds. My strength has yet to catch up to my feats, so I can only be proactive."

"What?"

When had such a powerful unknown Rune Master appeared in the Sector?

Sylas waved a hand, and suddenly, piles of heads began to form. Thousands of them tumbled out, each one from a C-tier, and each one twisted into a grimace.

Combat prowess.

Herrs seemed to want to cry real tears, and yet he had none left to give.

He was just about to speak when Sylas spoke first.

Was believing that one C-tier wiped the whole Beastguard really any less ridiculous than believing an F-tier played a huge role? It didn’t even make any sense.

A 13th Sentinel landed, peeling back a helm that almost looked plucked from elven mythos from his head. He looked up, his eyes scanning over Sylas, then his badge, and then to Old Brama.

PSSSSS.

"Mm. Quite an interesting number, indeed. Do you think that I could sneak that number of C-tiers into the Sanctum’s galaxy?"

Aurex might be of the Lion Lineage, but he wasn’t even close to being amongst their very best, and even though these Sentinels weren’t from the four strongest Beast Warlord Lineages... freew\e bnovel.com

The 13th Sentinel was already frowning, but Sylas was still talking.

Aurex didn’t get much more of a chance to think about things because several figures had already begun rushing in from the surroundings. With a frown, he could only touch down.

It was clear the reputation of the Sentinels preceded themselves, even when not a single one had spoken a word just yet.

Sylas looked at the Sentinel calmly. He could tell quite easily what they were thinking. But... he was quite tired of stupid people.

His eyes narrowed as they landed on Old Brama. Even now, he was certain that the one managing all of this was this old man. But he had never heard of him.

"You are an in-name disciple of Gralith’s? I presume you haven’t completed your rites yet."

"Answer the question."

"You have?" the 13th Sentinel asked quite calmly, as though this revelation wasn’t a huge deal.

"I... you... let go of me... get away from me..."

The defense units and law enforcement branch of the Sanctum didn’t come from any one particular Lineage. Instead, there was a quota to be met by all Lineages. Every cycle, there was an administered trial to become one of the Sentinels.

BANG!

It could be said that the Sanctum’s Sentinels were among the strongest warriors of the entire organization, and they were known to react quickly. In what felt like a blink of an eye, a dozen C-tiers had already appeared, wearing armors of dense golden and brown furs contrasted by a beautiful, almost scaly, white leather armor.
