Sylas seemed to be completely at peace. He finished tightening his Scorned Wraps, his heart rate beginning to pick up again as though he was warming up.
With a flash, the Hollow Wing appeared beneath him and it spun.
A sea of warriors appeared, and in a single blink-and the slightest flap of its wings-the Hollow Wing vanished.
Sylas appeared high in the skies, barely beneath the dome that blocked Ancestor Entrim out. It was almost like he had done it on purpose.
Even if he was only within hundreds of kilometers, it might as well have been arm's reach for an expert like her. Yet, he was barely 50 meters away now, and she understood she couldn't touch a single hair on his head.
Sylas, though, did nothing. His eyes had closed once more, his blood-covered, fabric-torn body standing tall and straight.
The Hollow Wing moved on its own, keeping its teleportations short. But there didn't seem to be even a single E- tier that could touch a corner of its wings. Directed by Sylas' mind, every choice, every teleportation was perfect.
What baffled everyone, though, was that Sylas wasn't using this chance to get closer to the building.
At first, they thought it was because he knew that they had already sent their strongest E-tiers to surround the building. Right now, he could be considered to be facing the mid-tier and lower rungs of the Seeing Eye Guild's E- tiers.
However, that didn't make sense. Even if Sylas comprehended this, he should be doing his best to get there.
There were the teleportation restrictions to worry about, but Sylas seemed capable of mitigating that by limiting the distance the Hollow Wing had to go.
For someone as smart as Sylas, he should know that waiting would only make things worse. If that 10-minute timer went up, then Sylas would have to face D-tiers surrounding that building instead. It didn't make any sense for him to wait, even if he knew it was a trap.
Sylas' mind, though, was elsewhere-if "elsewhere" referred to a state of silent calm. He didn't seem to be thinking about anything, as though he already knew what he was going to do and was just biding his time.
The Hollow Wing had been Level 51 for a while now. He hadn't used it much since successfully helping it progress to the E-tier. It being Level 100 now was actually thanks to the large number of resources Fanelei had granted him.
It was quite convenient to do something like this when you had the wealth of an entire guild at your fingertips. Fanelei had been useful for more than one thing, it seemed.
"He's not coming, it seems," the Purvon Clan young heir said quite calmly.
The A-tier to his back clenched his fists within his robe, his agitation slipping through. This matter felt like watching someone gamble their entire fortune on a single number. The anxiety was getting to him.
If the Weaver Guild became a Demi-God-level existence, one might think it'd just be as simple as wiping them out and calling it a day. But if that was the case, the Purvon Clan young heir wouldn't even be here in the first place.
Sure, they would be able to eventually wipe out the Weaver Guild, but the other Mortal Clans certainly wouldn't be helping with that. They would see it as an opportunity to turn things around, whereas before they had already given up.
In fact, in the background, they might even choose to subtly help the Weaver Guild so that they could survive a longer battle of attrition.
Of course, in the end, even these Mortal Clans would still side with the destruction of the Weaver Guild, but not before they had made sure that the Purvon had suffered appropriate losses-at the very least until they felt the playing field had been leveled again, but more likely until the Purvon Clan had almost nothing remaining.
At that point, even if the Purvon managed to become Demi-Gods, they might be pulled down by another Mortal Clan before they could fully grow into their roles.
There were good odds that with his talent, his young master could get a Demi-God Clan to step in. After all, a Demi-God had kneeled to him before... this wasn't a coincidence.
