Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 1748

๏ปฟChapter 1748 Contribution

Gralith sensed Sylas' return instantly, but his gaze couldn't help but flicker. He felt like something was off.

Usually, he would just leave Sylas be, but this time he felt compelled to move.

He stepped outside, vanishing until he was high in the skies. He looked out toward Sylas, and that feeling in his chest grew tighter and wilder.

However, he chose not to move.

After learning how far Sylas had gone for him, Gralith had a different sense of understanding toward this disciple of his. Things could either go one of two ways.

It was either Sylas felt that he had already repaid Gralith by saving his life, and could thus now do whatever he wanted-even if that meant putting everything the latter had ever known into direct danger.

Or... it meant that Sylas was about to take a step that, while it might immediately seem like a huge problem, would ultimately benefit them in the end.

And that was only possible if, and only if... they survived.

At this point, something was telling Gralith that the odds of this were very, very low.

He suddenly held out a hand, blocking someone. Ekear had seemingly sensed something as well, but before he could act, he was stopped by Gralith from interfering.

"Something is wrong. I feel a surge inside of me that shouldn't be there. I'm having a hard time suppressing my usual strength. Is it the promise again?"

Gralith paused for a moment and then shook his head. "No. That debt has already been repaid. We were free from it the moment I left my inheritance on that world."

"Then what is going on? What has Sylas done?"

"That... I do not know."

While the surrounding Horizons were all aware of who Sylas Grimblade was, Horizons that were much further away would still take time to receive the news, and those that were even further, like the Milky Way Horizon here, didn't stand a chance of ever knowing.

Even the likes of the Petals of the Seeing Thorn simply didn't stretch so far. The only organizations that had their hands in this pot that would have a method of learning would be the Kaelthar Mortal Thryskai Clan and... Legacy.

That said, Gralith did know that Sylas had only just established connection with a far more powerful organization. And now he had returned with something he couldn't quite put words to.

All they could do was stand at a distance and watch.

Sylas' eyes were still closed.

Karma was an interesting thing. It was so important in this world, and yet it had no form, no substance, and very obscure rules that dictated it.

Logically speaking, Sylas' Karma should be that of the Weaver Guild. It was impossible for him to have used the Weaver Guild's name to trigger this Karmic event, and then just up and decide to give it to someone else.

City Steles. Sect Steles. And various territory Steles of the like.

Sylas needed to be within Weaver Guild territory for its Stele to accept the Karma that was rightfully its own.

Obviously, if the system was obscured, the Steles wouldn't work properly, and thus there would be no path to grant anything to the Emperor Sanctum.

But Sylas had another way.

Why could he give the Karma to his family? It was because he had an internal connection to them.

Obviously, he just needed to form an internal connection with the Emperor Sanctum.

As for how he would do that...

It was something most others wouldn't think of, but was all too obvious to him.

He just needed to make another contribution to their Spirit Beast Wills.

Sylas' aura surged.
