Chapter 1770: Omnimous (4)

"Potential subordinate detected, Sir Sylas Grimblade. Would you like to subjugate him?"

The voice of the Omnimous wasn't quiet at all. In fact, Old Brama's lip couldn't help but twitch when he heard it.

"Ha, hear that, old man? If you had taught me instead of Psycho Syl here, you would've gotten better bang for your buck. Now you might be enslaved. How's it feel?"

"Do you ever shut up, brat?"

"This is how I stay sane around this guy," Alex said with a laugh.

Germaine was still on the floor nearby, trying to nurse her wounds and failing to do so.

"Go out. I have things to do," Sylas said coldly.

Old Brama sighed, shook his head, then turned to leave. He looked to the side, waved a hand, and grabbed Germaine as well.

By this point, they understood that if Sylas's bottom line was threatened, his patience was limited. And Old Brama had no intention of testing that bottom line-not right now.

He could feel that there was something weighing heavily on Sylas right now; otherwise, he would have never asked for that inheritance after being so uninterested in it for so long.

In that case... they should probably try and prepare as well.

Old Brama's eyes flickered. Was it related to that Heaven-Wide Announcement?

Last he heard, the Thryskai had pretty much all but secured that position. What had Sylas done to change things?

Sylas stood before a wide table formed of welded metal soon after. It was laid out before the obelisk and looked as simple as could be. But he could feel an energy radiating from it that was hard to parse.

"Sir Sylas Grimblade seems to be in a rush, so I will only give you the detailed rundown of the history of the Omnimous in the future. But there are still some things you should be aware of.

"The path of the Omnimous is known by many different names across many separate cultures, but often it falls under one of two monikers: Technology or Mechanisms. Often it is a combination of the two.

"The trouble with the path of technology is that it is to the universe what the Demon World is to the Real World."

Sylas's pupils constricted into pinholes.

"The universe always tends toward organic materials. Across an infinite number of worlds and an infinite amount of time, there has not ever been a Mech Race or anything of the sort. So, when you step onto the path of the Omnimous, you must understand that there is great resistance against it by the Real and Demon Worlds.

"While the Mech Path can be very efficiently used alongside either World, the only way to truly reach its greatest potential is by having it exist on its own, and that is where the true danger lies. Understanding this, would you still like to continue, Sir Sylas Grimblade?"

Sylas's eyes narrowed. "The system. The All-Seeing Eye. Or any previous systems before it. Are they examples of technology?"
