Sylas ended his fusion and looked at Gogo.
"What's wrong with you?"
If it was practically anyone else, Sylas wouldn't have even given it the time of day. But since it was Gogo, he gave him one chance to explain himself.
Yet all Gogo did was whimper again as though he knew he was wrong but didn't want to back down anyway.
Sylas was rendered speechless.
"... You're not even three years old."
Gogo whimpered again.
"She thinks I'm a Demon."
Gogo whimpered again.
"I know that I'm not," Sylas replied. "That's not exactly the point."
Letting her live was impossible. There was no explaining how Sylas used the Demon World.
Gogo didn't even want to just let her live, he wanted to let her go. Sylas didn't even know what to say to this.
Once again, if it was almost anyone else he wouldn't have given this the time of day. But Gogo had already been throwing a fit about being left in the Hibernation Realm for so long, and now he seemed very insistent on this for
some reason.
90% of it was a stupid crush that the big guy seemed to have formed in just a few hours. But the other 10% was something deeper. Sylas could feel it.
It was a bit fleeting, and also a bit vaguer than he was used to. Usually, when he sensed something from Vipermancy it was quite clear. This was the first time the feeling was so hard to grasp.
But the vague feeling he was getting was that Meikai was important to Gogo somehow.
Exactly how? Sylas had no idea.
But now that he was paying attention, he could tell that Gogo had also really not liked beating her up either.
No matter how Sylas looked at it, it was just a random crush, though.
On the one hand, he wanted to end this here and now. But on the other, his instinct told him it was deeper than just Gogo weathering his first love.
However, how exactly was he supposed to deal with this? He couldn't have just anyone walking around knowing he had connections to Demons.
It didn't matter if he killed every Azurex but Meikai. So long as she was alive, it would cause issues.
And even if he somehow wiped her memories, so long as her body was investigated, residual Demonic Will and Demonic Aether would definitely be sensed.
Of course, they didn't know exactly who he was. But a name was less important than a Will, and who knew what shocking methods Gods could have if they decided to target him directly?
They certainly had more than enough reason to target him in specific.
Sylas took a breath and exhaled.
If he could tell why this was so important to Gogo more clearly, it would be easier to make a decision. But even if this wasn't related to Gogo's bloodline, should he really reject him?
What was the point of having power if you couldn't help those you wanted to?
