Sylas looked at the stats indifferently. And then, as though he hadn't just created one of the most powerful treasures in the entire Horizon, he took it off and threw it back to Cassarae.
He hadn't created it for himself. He had created it to prove a point.
Cassarae put it on. Seemingly getting the memo, she put it on.
The Set reacted differently to her than it had to Sylas. Sylas had only put it on to sense and feel it. He hadn't taken off his Scorned Wraps. When she put it on... it truly bonded to her.
The inner armor extended down her legs and the boots rose up to meet it. The wings flashed with a pattern of veiny rose gold, shedding just the slightest bit of a rosy color into the air.
And then it formed over her head, leaving nothing but a single ponytail dancing in the wind behind her and obscuring all of her face but a pair of shimmering blue eyes.
She stepped into the skies and unsheathed her sword.
A howling Sword Aura split the clouds.
"Today is the day Earth has stepped onto the world stage," Sylas said calmly. "There will come a day when what has happened today will be returned a thousandfold.
"When that day comes, there will only be one Angel left in this world."
The rivers wrapping around Earth shook and solidified into churning rings, a formation locking into place that encompassed the entire star system in the blink of an eye.
A connection was formed with the sun and large amounts of power poured out from it.
The First Race knew that if the day came that Earth truly succeeded in its Summoning, it would need protection. However, in order to properly succeed in this, not only did the Mountains of Giza need to be cleared... One needed to also clear the Lost City of Greed.
Sylas had conquered the City of Glass with some relative ease. But the Lost City of Greed was a Gold City. Although he knew that this was possible in the past and had already deduced what to do, he wasn't 100% certain that he would have had the strength to do it.
The leap for every tier above was greater and greater.
For a Gold City, Sylas needed to display Demi-God level strength. He simply couldn't do that with any sort of assurance. That was why he hadn't bothered to keep himself at Level 50.
Instead, he focused on trying to get as strong as he could as quickly as he could.
Who would have thought that the Rat would clear that difficulty for him, allowing Earth to gain its protection far earlier than Sylas expected?
Well... Sylas did. That's who would have thought.
When he said that the Rat wasn't as clever as he pondered he was, Sylas already knew. The moment the Rat had survived back then, Sylas thought of all the other ways he could have used to attack him.
