Chapter 1950: Last Breath of a Future Hope

[Quicktime Event Triggered]

[Last Breath of a Future Hope]

[Level Recommended: 200]

[Description: The Emperor Sanctum has been the subject of much scrutiny, and yet it has been little more than a pawn in the hands of others. Broken and fallen further and further from their original path, they now find themselves too weak for the Demi-God Realm and an enemy of the whole Mortal Realm.

Power, consolidation, desire, and strength. These things have always dictated who sits upon a throne of their choosing and those who kneel at its feet.

The enemies of the Emperor Sanctum have taken hold of a weakness. Somehow, news that the Ancestors of the Sanctum are occupied has been spread. Enemies have come in droves, sending those at Level 200 and under in large numbers to escape detection of The Sanctum's formations.

With the Emperors that remain held in the shadows by unknown enemies, the younger generation of The Sanctum is prime for eradication.

How will you react, heroes of The Sanctum? Will the Legacy of your Ancestors fall here? Or will new life bloom from the ashes?] [Event Type: Survival]

Sylas raised an eyebrow. As the meteors fell from above, crashing against the defensive formations of The Sanctum, one would have thought that the noise would have swallowed up everything else.

Yet, in action, what actually happened was that it was all drowned out by the screams.

The C-tiers and lower that had broken through had already made it through the formations. It was those beyond the C-tier that had been blocked on the outside.

But judging by those meteors, it was clear that they didn't have any intention of stopping here. The Quicktime Event seemed to suggest that this would be a battle mostly decided by those beneath the B-tier, but the system had always been missing a few screws.

If the barrier broke, this wouldn't be a nice little playground anymore. It would be an immediate speed run toward death.

Sylas looked down from the skies and toward the Ancestors who were forced to remain in a focused meditation. Most of them probably still had no idea what was happening on the outside. Only the strongest of them could ever spare a tendril or two of their senses.

However, even they could only helplessly remain in place.

If they faltered now, the gate to the Mancer Scape would be swallowed whole, and the protective territory that allowed their youth to have a safe encampment to return to would also collapse.

At that point, Sylas' threats would be meaningless. The Sanctum would lose all of their people.

"SYLAS GRIMBLADE!"

A roar echoed across the skies.

"He doesn't seem to like you very much." Yamero said with a hint of amusement in his voice.

The Ape Emperor peeled across the skies but he seemed too occupied by battle to actually pull away.

However, yelling out Sylas' name was definitely more than enough.

Sylas could guess the Ape Emperor's intentions. He hadn't liked Sylas from the beginning because of his disciple's death during the gathering. But the real reason he was doing this was because he probably thought that this was Sylas' fault.
