Chapter 1994: Not Funny

"You... want to fight me...?" Keyesen let out a hollow, disbelieving laugh.

He didn't understand much of what was going on. He had always been too rash and arrogant in his life, so there was quite a lot his grandfather and father had simply never told him.

The mere fact that upon their first meeting in so long Keyesen had said that he would kill Eliwine was proof enough of this. But now, Eliwine was dead by a careless swipe of Sylas' scythe and now he located himself in league with a sea of traitors.

To top it off, there was all of this pent up fury within him that he didn't quite know what to do with. It was like the world was pulling the greatest practical joke on him.

This... was not funny at all. Not in the slightest.

Keyesen began to walk down the stairs. He passed by Bella's stunned form as though she wasn't worth more than the crap and shit by the side of the road to him, his eyes seeping with a crimson light.

Arcs of emerald mixed in with his violet aura, coming out the edges of his eyes and tearing the Will in the air apart.

By the time he reached the bottom of the stairs, his momentum had reached its peak. He pulled out a spear with a head so wild and jagged it seemed it couldn't decide whether to be a spear or a warring glaive.

He couldn't remember the last time someone beneath him had forced him to bring out his weapon. But he seemed to feel as though something within him needed to be vented, a fury buried in the depths of his soul raging and wanting to bark its way out.

Keyesen had never been simply a pervert nor was he simply some prodigal son. The fact he could look an Ancestor level character in the eye and wish death upon them had been proof enough of this.

He had a Pride that was deep within his bones, one that simply wasn't allowed to form beneath the might of Sylas'

own.

In another life, another moment, this goading and prodding would have allowed him to form a connection with the Sin of Pride.

Unfortunately for him... there was no such chance.

But Keyesen didn't know this. All he knew was that he was being humiliated, that his family was being ostracized, that his Scorpion Lineage was being treated like a dog that had pissed down the leg of The Sanctum.

Never. He would never allow this.

He stopped just three meters from Deacon, his armor crackling into existence. Every location a bolt of lightning landed formed another shingle until he was adorned from head to toe in a Runic Armor that swirled with colors of violet and the most resplendent of vibrant greens.

The former color formed the large majority of his armor while the latter bloomed in fractal patterns that almost looked like burned electrical marks across wood.

There was a certain beauty to it that forced the world to acknowledge its presence. It was something that would have left the Cycle of Emperors in awe... If they hadn't just spent the last several days watching Sylas form one Armor after another that was vastly superior in every single way possible.

White gold swirled around Deacon and before Keyesen could even demand the former summon his armor, he had already tapped a foot to the ground and materialized before Keyesen in a flashing instant.
