Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 2017

ο»ΏChapter 2017: Stern

Sylas pulled himself up from bed, the curl of Cassarae's fingers still firmly wrapped around his balls and member as though she didn't want him to go anywhere.

But she wasn't exactly conscious right now. In fact, she was sleeping so soundly he doubted the end of the world would have changed much of anything about it. She might highly well remain asleep for the next several days.

After a long while, he managed to slowly pry her hand away and stand to his feet. Once he showered, he stepped outside in a single sky blue pair of shorts, a white t-shirt, and a brown pair of loafers.

When he made his way to the kitchen, the first thing that hit him were the smells, and then he saw his mother. His father sat at the table along with his father-in-law, Paul.

Both men looked toward him at the same time and nodded. But they didn't say much else, content to let the topic rest.

His mother Isolde, however, was a different matter entirely. The moment she heard her son, she rushed over after wiping her hands, cupping Sylas' face as though trying to find what disease might be harming him.

"Are you okay?" Isolde asked. "No, don't answer that. It's a silly question. Come and eat."

Isolde seemed a bit flustered.

Honestly, in all her intelligence, she wasn't used to consoling her children. She had no idea how to do that.

Sylas wasn't exactly the crying sort of child. In fact, she couldn't remember him ever doing so after he had left diapers. About a month or so before he started talking, it was like he had become a little adult.

As for Elara, she was just as odd. It was like the moment she became a little adult, she decided to turn all that intelligence toward being mischievous.

This had ironically made her job as a parent far more complicated and far easier at the same time. But the skills she had built up to deal with the complexities didn't work in normal situations.

So, she brought Sylas to a plate of food and he ate. Everyone acted as though the skies weren't suddenly connected to an organization that should have been countless times more powerful than Earth.

It was a forgotten detail in all the nonsense they were facing.

Sylas didn't have to be asked twice. He ate in silence, the weight of the food feeling a little less now than before, but quite exceptional nonetheless.

He never thought that the best food he would receive would come from Earth of all places. The work that his mom, Szorn, and Geraldene had been putting in was quite exceptional.

After he finished, he wiped his mouth.

"Thank you, mother." Sylas said with a nod.

Isolde took his plate and rubbed his hair, her smile a bit forced.

Elara came bounding down the stairs at that moment, leaping up as Isolde pulled away. She landed on Sylas' shoulders without the slightest scruple, facing forward with him and wrapping her legs around his neck as though she wanted to choke him out.

Sylas shook his head, grabbing a leg with a hand and prying her free so easily Elara's strains felt more fake than

true.

"How has it been?" Sylas asked.

Elara grinned. "I cleared a lot of dungeons. I'm very strong, you know."

"You don't feel strong."

"Hey! It's not my fault you're making me stay at Level 0."

Elara flipped through the air before deftly landing on her feet and pouting. π•—π—Ώπ•–πžπ°π—²π•“π§π• π•§π—²π₯.πšŒπ¨πš–
