Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 2064

Chapter 2064: Already Started

The obvious answer was the Dungeon mutation. But something about that answer felt too simple to Sylas.

What could a Dungeon mutation allow? A greater challenge? Potentially greater rewards?

The answer still seemed too simple.

There was one reason that left Sylas feeling this the most strongly. All he had done was attack the creature by accident and it had woken up, but they spoke about waiting all this time for this to happen.

If it was that easy to wake it up, why didn't they just attack it themselves?

'Ah. I see.'

Ultimately, it clicked as Sylas stopped looking at the portals as individuals but rather the sum of a whole. If the frequencies of them were pulled together, they would be very reminiscent of one thing... Demi-God.

That was why it had woken up. Sylas' telekinesis was tinged with Demi-Godhood, and he had used it to attack the man leering at him. The result was the creature completing its evolution long ahead of the time it should.

Were they just hoping that the creature eventually swallowed enough Dungeons that it would eventually mutate a Demi-God one into existence?

Sylas honestly didn't expect to stumble into something like this here. His top priority was still the Glutton. But... 'This will cause a big change.'

These three had made it here instantly, but they had only been the right combination of acting the fastest and being the nearest. But right now Sylas could sense a continuous rolling amount of changes in the atmosphere, almost like portals were... sparring.

'They're fighting for space.'

Thousands, then tens of thousands, then more beyond that were trying to make a connection with the planet they were on. But there was only so much the space could bend.

This many teleportations happening at the same time would put the world in trouble of being ripped to pieces. So not only was the world itself trying to limit things, but the fail safes of the teleportation channels on the other side were doing the same thing.

Because of that, it was like an all-out jousting session where several portals would try and position themselves to be the first and end up cancelling each other out.

Eventually the first few would get through, but there was no doubt that the priority would be to those with the most robust teleportation methods.

Sylas' eyes narrowed. There were very few with better teleportation methods than the Weaver Guild. If he got them here, it would be a great boon for them.

The question was if their trust in him was enough to risk offending the Thryskai. If Sylas had to bet on which Clans or organization would have the most representation here, it could only be one.

A roar echoed and a giant of a man ripped a path out. The moment Sylas noticed the blue hands and felt the whipping cold winds, he knew exactly who had just succeeded.

The Royal Blue Trolls of the Seeing Eye Guild.

'They didn't use stability, they used overwhelming power.'

Logically, the Weaver Guild should have been amongst the first to succeed. But the Seeing Eye Guild was far more desperate. They had beaten everyone else out by pouring more Aether into their formation than any of the others.
