Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 2113

The man was tall, but only insofar as Four was concerned. His peacock feathers were what truly stood out between him and others, his might showering down upon the world in their speckles of black, rouge, and gold.

Looking into them truly felt like one was staring into the eyes of a demon, millions as far as the eye could see, and endless in their purgatory.

The man himself didn't seem particularly odd. He wasn't ugly, but he wasn't extremely attractive. He wasn't short, but he wasn't overly tall either. He probably stood at around 5'9" or so, an average height, perfectly measured in all aspects.

His face was cleanly shaven, his brows neatly trimmed, his hair combed back in an arc that made him look like he would be off to work one of the millions of desk jobs back on Earth rather than take any real part in a battle.

However… those that could focus beyond the feathers to see the sheer calm averageness of the man were few and far between. Even those that called themselves powerhouses of the B-tier might very well never see this.

Instead, they would see a man handsome beyond words, a man carved to the specifications of a true deity, a lofty, untouchable existence that had descended down from the God Realm in order to lay his mark down on the mortals who thought themselves far too great.

Such was the pull, the allure of his feathers.

And when such a man placed all his attention on a single thing, all of his heart and intention toward one focal point, it shone more radiantly than ever before.

As beautiful as Four was on her own, when One placed his intention toward her like this it was like watching a flower bloom, the sun rise, the moon twinkle in twilight and flirt with the eclipse.

She went from a breathtaking woman in the figurative sense to one that snatched away the oxygen from your very lungs, depressing your diaphragm and ripping your throat asunder. Your belly would feel hot, your mind churned into a quagmire of mush and nothingness.

Such was her beauty right now, and it was all because of the man who stood across from her.

"There was trouble." Four said calmly, seemingly not understanding her own radiance in this moment.

"What sort?" One asked patiently. If it was anyone else who answered so perfunctorily, he may have already torn their heads off. There was obviously a problem, he had already asked this, there was no need to restate it.

"Sylas Grimblade. He is more powerful and more troublesome than we originally decided to claim."

One's already ice cold expression seemed to plummet the temperatures all the more. Space turned frigid and icicles began to grow along their fissured lines.

But if one knew of One's Abilities, then one thing would have been very odd at that moment…

One didn't control Ice Aether.

"Sylas Grimblade." He said the name slowly as though it forked his tongue continuously, the distaste on his lips growing with every passing moment.

But instead, Sylas exposed the fact that the elders of the Cryst Heaven hadn't managed to arrive yet. Instead, the elders they had with them were actually elders of the Seeing Eye Guild who had grown up all their lives in the Skai Heaven and thus had weaker than normal foundations.

Because they grew up in a Heaven where Will was the predominant Core Stat, they hadn't been able to grow to their full potential, resulting in this.

This was a matter they would have been alright with being exposed later, but this was too early, and it put them on the back foot. There was also an even higher chance now that an assault might take place on their guild before they were ready.

All because of Sylas Grimblade and a casual deduction he had made by observing a single reaction.

In fact, it was because of Sylas Grimblade that they were caught so unprepared in the first place.

Now they had gone from an enigma of an enemy that could crush everyone with their Fourth ranked genius alone, to a paper tiger.

One didn't seem to care about any of this, though. All he could see were the wounds on his woman's body.

As he carefully tended to her wounds, his heart only grew colder and colder.

'Sylas Grimblade, oh Sylas Grimblade… I was originally going to only take personal action to claim Rhykan Purvon's head. But you will be first on the list instead.'
