Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 2217

Sylas left his grandfather's room soon after, a chilly cold in his eyes.

It was quite the coincidence, but at least something was falling into place properly.

Sylas already had his own Rune Mastery Path. It would take all his bandwidth to perfect it. However, maybe there was another way for him to grasp it through his grandfather.

If his grandfather could improve it enough to cause and force changes in the Grimblade Bloodline, then as its Progenitor Sylas would grasp it easily as well.

In the past, his grandfather had already managed to touch onto the edges of a Path of Death. It was only natural for Sylas to pass it along to him.

Then, one day, his grandfather would be able to cross that threshold on his own, complete the horseshoe, and sense what was on the other side.

Who knew what might happen then?

Sylas had realized something very curious about his bloodline. Logically speaking, he couldn't possibly be the origin of a bloodline that somehow benefited his parents, grandfather, and even Cassarae.

That was very clearly some twisted timeline of events that didn't quite add up.

But at this point, Sylas was quite used to the ebb and flow of time and the curiosities that came with it. As such, he was more than ready to embrace it… And take advantage of it where he could.

Much the same way he could trigger changes to his bloodline that somehow went backward in time, his grandfather could do the vice versa.

And something told Sylas that he would be very, very invested in doing exactly that, because it just might mean that, one day, he could see his wife again.

Was that actually possible? Honestly, Sylas didn't know.

He had no recollection of his grandmother because she had died long before he was born. So, no amount of superhuman memory on his part would be helpful at all.

He didn't know or understand her Will, and even if it was possible to bring someone back from the dead with their bloodline, Sylas couldn't be the one to do it.

It would have to be someone who knew her inside and out, and someone with so much Rune Mastery talent that he had managed to step into those realms of mystery before the system blasted open the gates for him.

The Efivara were scum of the earth who wiped clean everything they came across, destroyed and pillaged, leaving nothing but chaos in their wakes.

But this time, their path just might be used to do something good.

Now, all Sylas had to do was bring his family back together.

He couldn't remember the last time he had had a one on one talk with his grandfather, but this time, he had spent more than three hours there.

It was just a shame that many of those factions were too far away.

But soon, very soon, and likely a lot sooner than Sylas would have hoped, there would be a lot of attention rotated this way.

The Demi-God Plane's absolute peak was Quasi Legendary. There might be some worlds closer to Legendary than not, but the raw truth of the matter was that there were not even more than a few dozen worlds at that level.

And now, one had just suddenly appeared near the edges of a location it should have never been able to.

However, before that news could even settle down and the monsters of the world could begin to send their investigators over regardless of the cost, other news was passed down.

An Efivara Clan had been wiped out to their last man, woman, and child.

There was obviously no one to spread this news. There were no witnesses present that would have made this news available in the first place.

The only reason and way this could have been possible was because the connection of worship had been severed and the World Spirit they had latched it through was wiped out.

So, it could be said that the moment Sylas had wiped them out and Earth had taken control…

The strongest of the Efivara were already made aware.
