Ryn understood what she was looking at much faster than Cheri had. Her pupils shook violently, her eyes widening to the point what were near-slits became truly serpent-like. For a moment, it looked like her eyes had taken up a large chunk of her face.
She reached for the feather and it vanished from Sylas' hands. He didn't even try to outspeed her, he knew his limits. And right now, anything that might expose his true level of power was something that he wanted to avoid.
But his perception, and the speed of movement of his Will was on another level entirely.
Everything he projected now made it feel like he was on a level beyond these two.
And he wanted to keep it that way.
As expected, Ryn felt another wave of shock when she failed to even touch the feather. In fact, if her perception was correct, the feather disappeared the instant she so much as twitched. Were Sylas' senses truly that far beyond her own?
To a layman, it looked like she had only just missed it. But to Ryn and those at her level, especially Stone behind her… she might as well have been a mile away from getting the feather.
"What… this… how do you…"
Stone was frozen behind Ryn as well, still not quite believing his senses. That wasn't just some totem that radiated the goddess' aura. That was a literal piece of the goddess.
How was that possible? Who was this man?
"Isn't it a simple matter to get something like this from someone who is on my level?" Sylas asked indifferently.
"On your… level…?"
Sylas' Lust Seed pulsed and Ryn suddenly felt like something inside of her was being yanked away.
BANG.
She fell to a knee, grabbing at her belly as her mouth hung open. It felt like she had just been punched in the gut or like she was trying to heave up all the lunch she had eaten.
But her stomach had nothing but acid to give up. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten anything.
Stone made a move to step forward, but then suddenly reacted with hesitation. That pulse hadn't been directed toward him, but he had sensed the lingering after effects.
Sylas didn't expect this result either. If he had known that this was possible, why would he bother with all of this?
Ryn held up a hand to stop Stone again, doing her best to try and regain her breath. It took a extended while, but she finally managed to stand once again.
Her breath was still heavy on her lips, but she just barely managed to regain some small segment of support.
