Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 809

Sylas’ roars spread out for countless miles.

The entire region had been cleared out of all beasts but Serpentes, not a single one of the other powerhouses, even of the E-Grade, were willing to get involved.

In that moment, Sylas might as well have been the True Emperor of the region. So long as he said the word, he could force anything, trigger anything.

Chi.

The lance shattered into countless pieces, falling in a delicate rain of sparkling Glass. There was a certain beauty to it, the only tinges of darkness coming from Sylas’ form.

There was no satisfaction in his heart, no happiness. There was a reason he had borne the weight of the Glassinox first, only allowing himself to fight it out with his true part after the fact.

It was a reminder.

He had so many advantages in this battle, and yet his breathing was heavy and he had almost died not just once, but twice—first with the hole to his chest and second when he cast [Psychedelic Punch].

He was weak. Still so very weak.

If he couldn’t target a Serpentes, claiming this Legendary Class while still being Level 0 would have been nothing more than a pipe dream.

Sylas descended from the skies as the golden waters began to rush back. He grabbed the body of the Glassinox, his expression placid.

It was time.

[Path of the Mancer (Legendary) (Quest)]

His muscles wiggled over one another, growing in size, only to be compressed and restrained. Every fiber of his being was growing to a new height, and the feeling…

Your journey continues on empire

Was absolutely intoxicating.

This was what a Legendary Class felt like.

And then the other shoe dropped.

Sylas knew that this was no normal breakthrough, and soon, he felt the flickering, dense flame within it to prove it.

He had lit another Progenitor Flame.

The first allowed him to reach Progenitor Mastery…

The second allowed him to slow his perception of the world around him…

And this one…

Sylas’ eyes snapped open, harsh winds billowing out with him as the center. They scythed the air, whipping against trees, nearly knocking them off balance.

A crown flickered above Sylas’ head and then solidified.

BOOM!

A rush of pressure descended upon Sylas from all sides and he coughed up a mouthful of blood before being sent flying as though a battering ram had crashed against his chest.

He landed heavily on his feet, his crown cracking and then slowly vanishing.

It was only then that the pressure around him vanished.

The coldness in the depths of Sylas’ eyes flickered as he seemed to understand something.

Looking around, he realized that it was time to return.

At the same moment, though… a shocking upheaval was taking place.
