The country of Caswana had once been a major exporter. They sold everythingfarm goods, electronics, steel, ceramics, clothing, metals, and even building materials. So as she climbed, each floor was packed with something new.

She took whatever she thought might be useful.

Even when she reached a floor filled with all kinds of caskets, big and small, she didn’t hesitate. She gathered them all into her storage space. After all, they were made of wood. Who knew- they might make good firewood someday.

She remembered hearing that one county in Caswana had made a fortune just by producing caskets. The entire county survived on that trade. Most were shipped overseasto nearby countries and even across the oceantaking over more than 90% of some markets.

Caroline checked the caskets she had picked up. Sure enough, they all came from that same famous county.

She kept climbing, floor after floor, until she reached the 25th level.

When she stepped into the 26th, a strong herbal smell hit her nose.

The whole floor was packed with medicinal herbs.

Everything was neatly packed for export, sealed tight so even the heavy acid rain hadn’t damaged a thing.

Caroline remembered learning a bit about alternative medicine from her grandmother when she was little. After taking a quick look, she recognized many common herbsones used for treating colds, fevers, and small injuries. But there were rare ones toolike elk antler velvet, ox root, and lifeshroom, all known for boosting strength and energy.

She collected them all into her storage space.

On a desk in one of the rooms, she spotted a small iron box sitting neatly in the center.

It had a combination lock and looked specially designed.

Without hesitation, she took out her axe and smashed the lock open.

Inside, lined with red velvet, were several strange, fistsized objects.

Caroline frowned. She didn’t recognize them.

The one on the left was goldenyellow and gave off a strange smell.

She lifted it carefully and saw the label underneathox stone.

Her eyes lit up.

Prairie oysters usually refer to a bull’s testicles, used in medicine for energy and recovery. Most of what you found on the market was small and black, about the size of a fist.

But this kindformed inside a bull’s stomach under rare conditionswas a true treasure.

Before the apocalypse, these things were worth a fortunetens of thousands of dollars per

gram.

They were rare natural formations, impossible to produce by hand. Because of their healing power and their use in difficult medical cases, the price kept rising higher and higher.

They came from old farm ox, the kind that lived long, tough years.

The one in the middle of the box was about the size of a fist, light brown, and shaped like an oval.

The next one, smaller, said dog stone.”

The last one was round, gray, nearly eight inches across, with spiral lines swirling across the surface. It looked like some kind of strange rock.

The note beneath read horse stone.

These three were once priceless ingredients in traditional medicine, nearly impossible to find. And these pieces were much larger than most.

Back in the old world, selling even one of them could have driven herbal collectors and healers wild with excitement.

Caroline tucked the entire box into her storage space. Who knewmaybe someday she’d find

a use for them.

Starting from the 27th floor, the layout of the rooms changed.

There were now five rooms to a floor, smaller in size, with most supplies packed into small

boxes.

The 27th and 28th floors were mostly filled with firewood, tea leaves, and sugar. Caroline didn’t hesitateshe stored everything.

The 29th floor contained medical equipment.

The 30th was full of medicinemostly antibiotics, fever reducers, and boxes upon boxes of face masks.

From the 31st floor up, the rooms had all been rented out by a single company.

They were stacked with camping supplies: lanterns, stoves, tents, outdoor jackets, mats, folding chairs, and tables.

Caroline remembered how, right before the apocalyse started, camping had become a huge trend.

People were eager to escape the cities, to feel fresh air and open skies.

Looking around, she noticed these items were all highqualitymanufactured domestically, labeled for foreign brands, then shipped back to sell at a premium.

She took them all to storage, too.

When she finally reached the top floor, she expected more camping gear.

But the moment she climbed the last steps, she froze. A huge lock blocked her waysealing off whatever was waiting above.
