Girl's Doomsday Rebirth Revenge & Survive novel Chapter 324

324 Do I Look Cool?

Pinky and Silver stood silently beside him, their gazes fixed on the horizon. The air was crisp, carrying a faint chill that made the stillness feel even more profound.

Caroline approached them curiously. “What are you all staring at?” she asked softly.

The moment Denton caught sight of her, his face brightened with excitement. “Caroline! Tyler’s gone!” he exclaimed, unable to hide his enthusiasm.

She blinked, caught off guard. Tyler’s missing, and Denton’s reaction was so joyful? Was he feeling alright? Maybe a fever was messing with his head.

It turned out Denton was referring to Tyler slipping into the core area of Building B. Just as he was about to be caught, Tyler vanished—dodging a bullet, quite literally—probably diving straight into his secret storage space.

“Tyler’s storage space is amazing! He told me you have one too. I’m the only one without one!” Denton said, giving her the saddest, most pleading puppy-dog eyes she’d ever seen.

Caroline reached out and gently tapped his head. “But you’ve got your mutant rat army, haven’t you?”

His face lit up instantly, a wide grin spreading across it. “Yeah! My mutant rat army! Hehe, I’ve been teaching them to dance. Once they get the moves down, I’ll show you and Tyler!” His excitement was infectious.

Watching Denton, Caroline couldn’t help but smile. Teenagers were so easy to please, so full of wonder and simple joys.

He was just utterly adorable.

Another reason she had hurried back was Jet.

When Caroline arrived home, the bathroom door was still firmly shut, and the house was enveloped in a deep silence.

Jet hadn’t finished his upgrade yet.

Not wanting to disturb him, Caroline eased the door open slowly. Inside, Jet was perched in the basin, looking larger than before. His feathers shimmered with brighter colors, flecks of blue starlight twinkling across them like tiny constellations.

The little tuft on his head had grown longer, curling playfully into a delicate question mark that wobbled with every slight movement of air.

Nearby, Raven sat quietly, ever watchful. As Caroline stepped inside, he lifted his head, his dark eyes meeting hers.

She realized with a pang that Jet hadn’t left the bathroom once during the entire time. He must be desperate for a break.

She was just about to tell Raven he could take a rest—that she’d keep an eye on Jet—when suddenly Jet’s eyes snapped open.

His irises had shifted to a dreamy shade of purple, and combined with his gray-blue feathers, he looked utterly magical, almost otherworldly.

“Human…” he whispered weakly.

Caroline scooped him up gently, feeling the warmth radiating from his body. He must have completed his upgrade!

Lately, she had noticed Raven behaving more maturely, almost like a protective older brother.

Today, craving something sweet, Caroline pulled out a slice of caramel cheesecake and a taro cream roll from her storage space. Pouring herself a cup of tea, she stood by the window, nibbling on the treats while gazing through her binoculars.

She let her thoughts wander as the cold wind wrapped around the house.

The clock read 17:02 on Thursday, November 13.

Despite the biting cold outside, the harsh snap of winter was expected to ease soon.

Suddenly, not far away, a house collapsed with a heavy, grinding sound.

The thick snow, combined with acid rain that had weakened the structure over time, caused it to crumble like a deck of cards.

Within seconds, the building sank beneath the endless white blanket, buried entirely under a mound of snow.

Looking further into the distance, Caroline spotted more of these snow-covered “graves” scattered across the landscape, silent markers of homes that once stood proudly.

Each mound told a quiet story of lives lived and lost in this frozen wasteland.
