**Doomsday Rebirth 387**
**The Three Visions**
As Tyler concluded his words, he fixed his gaze directly on Crow, a steely determination in his eyes. “If we managed to breach their defenses once, then surely we can do it again.”
In the past, they had exercised restraint, choosing not to escalate matters too far.
But now, the situation had changed dramatically. Obsidian Fang had repeatedly overstepped boundaries, and with the mask of civility stripped away, they found themselves armed with numerous ways to eliminate him if they so desired.
Caroline turned towards Crow, a faint yet knowing smile gracing her lips. “So, Crow, do you still harbor intentions of killing us?”
A flicker of fear danced in his eyes, betraying the bravado he had tried to maintain.
After an hour of being completely at their mercy, his perspective had shifted profoundly.
Crow was not a fool. He had lived through two lifetimes and had learned when to yield to the harsh realities of life.
He recognized that as long as he retained his unique ability, he could continue to live in relative comfort. There was no point in provoking Caroline or Tyler further.
Even if he couldn’t secure Nelson’s assistance, there was still Summer from the army to consider. Or perhaps he could forge his own faction and seek alternative solutions.
The truth was, he was terrified now.
He struggled to maintain an air of calm, but the anxiety was palpable, seeping through his facade.
What gnawed at him the most was the humiliation.
Before the apocalypse and even during it, he had always held a position of respect and status. Now, he found himself reduced to a mere shadow of his former self, humiliated within the confines of his own home.
If fate granted him another chance, he vowed never to cross paths with Tyler and Caroline again.
“I want nothing to do with you anymore,” he blurted out, his voice tinged with urgency. “I won’t cause any more trouble, and I deeply regret my past actions. But I need Nelson to cure me. I’m willing to pay any price for him to treat my future cancer. Quack quack.”
His words tumbled out in a rush, strained and filled with emotion, revealing the depth of his desperation.
Caroline rubbed her chin thoughtfully, a sigh escaping her lips inwardly. Crow, why must you always complicate matters? If my instincts are correct, your ailment could have been resolved with just a single vial of Nelson’s blood. That guy is so reckless with his own body, he wouldn’t even notice one more tube missing. How did you manage to turn a simple solution into such a convoluted mess—and nearly lose your life in the process? Honestly, would it be too much to ask for you to keep things straightforward just once?
This indicated that Caroline and Tyler’s future was shrouded in uncertainty.
Even his ability could only grasp fragmented glimpses of significant events.
In total, three images flashed before him, each one fleeting and ephemeral—much like the last time he had attempted to glimpse into Caroline’s future, they zipped by in an instant.
The first vision emerged, clearer than before, revealing that same villa, now nestled at the base of a mountain. Caroline and Tyler stood back to back, surrounded by a pool of blood. It was evident they had just survived a fierce confrontation. From the aftermath, it was clear they had triumphed—but the cost had been steep, and the battle had been brutal.
The second vision unfolded, showing an expansive desert. The two of them trudged forward alongside several others, the wind whipping up sand into chaotic whirlwinds around them. In the distance loomed a dark silhouette, too far away to discern clearly. Surrounding them were countless shifting shadows, resembling colossal beasts rising ominously from the earth.
The third image flashed by with such speed that Crow barely caught a glimpse. He couldn’t discern the specifics of what was transpiring, but the sensation it evoked was one of tranquility and warmth, reminiscent of two hands clasped together in unity.
Crow recounted every detail of his visions, leaving nothing to chance.
Upon hearing the first vision, Caroline remained largely unfazed. She had already set her plans in motion to relocate and establish her mobile villa. Encountering a skirmish or two was simply part of the journey—she was more than prepared for it.
