Girl's Doomsday Rebirth Revenge & Survive novel Chapter 458

**Doomsday Rebirth 458**
**Chapter 458: Raven’s New Trick**

Jet, in a moment of unexpected levity, suddenly found himself suspended in mid-air, his belly facing the ceiling. He only ascended a mere few inches from the ground, yet it felt like he was soaring.

And then, to Caroline’s astonishment, Raven was floating too!

The black dog’s face turned toward Caroline, as if to say, “Look at me, human! This is my special talent! Isn’t it impressive?”

In an instant, Caroline’s mind raced back to the notes she had studied from the Zero System. A particular detail struck her: the gravity manipulation could be adjusted anywhere from 0.3 to 5 times the normal force.

She pondered the implications of this. If gravity were to be increased, a person would be met with an overwhelming weight, causing someone mid-run to tumble face-first to the ground. Those attempting to strike could find their limbs too heavy to lift.

Conversely, if gravity were decreased, individuals could float effortlessly. They might even glide across the surface with remarkable speed, as the friction beneath them would be significantly reduced.

Such a realization made her heart race—speed could become astonishingly rapid!

Just as she was lost in her thoughts, a streak of black darted past her, a mere blur in her peripheral vision.

Raven’s face suddenly loomed right in front of hers, and before she could even process the motion, he gave her a quick, affectionate lick on the cheek.

So fast! Caroline barely had time to react before Raven had dashed around the room, only to return to her side once more.

With that kind of velocity, Caroline realized with a flutter of anxiety that if Raven decided to attack while she was unprepared, she would be utterly unable to defend herself.

His mismatched eyes, one a deep amber and the other a striking blue, locked onto hers with an intensity that made her heart swell. He leaned his head against her shoulder, his tiny tail wagging with such enthusiasm that it seemed on the verge of taking flight.

As the initial shock faded, Caroline finally grasped what Raven was trying to convey.

Without hesitation, she reached out and affectionately stroked his large head. “Good job, Raven! You’re incredible! What a good dog you are! You’re so strong!”

With every word of encouragement she offered, Raven’s tail wagged even more fervently, his doggy face radiating pure, uncontainable joy.

Caroline couldn’t help but acknowledge this truth: no matter how unusual Raven’s abilities became, he would always be her devoted and loyal companion.

Jet stood nearby, showering Raven with compliments, his tone almost reverent. Caroline couldn’t shake the suspicion that Jet was recalling the delicious broth he had once craved, or perhaps he was simply hoping that Raven would assist him in chasing after Silver, as he had promised.

In another room, Denton was engaged in a rather affectionate display, smothering Silver with kisses.

Silver, too, had awakened to a new ability—a skill that allowed for exploration and stealth.

After Caroline had copied it, she found it surprisingly fascinating.

**Special Ability: You Can’t See Me**

**Note:** This is a passive ability. When the user truly wishes to remain unseen, they simply think, “You can’t see me,” and their presence diminishes to nearly nothing. Those nearby will naturally overlook the user, making it an ideal skill for sneaking, spying, or even taking a break when one is supposed to be working.

Francis took the lead, gripping one end of the casket with a grim determination.

Behind him, over a hundred soldiers marched in unison, their faces etched with solemnity and resolve.

They donned black armbands, and the weight of grief was palpable in the air.

Francis, leading the procession, called out with a voice that resonated with sorrow, “Commander Ball, may you rest in peace!”

However, before they could proceed any further, two trucks suddenly pulled up, obstructing their path.

A contingent of soldiers disembarked.

They too wore uniforms and black armbands, standing at attention as they saluted the casket.

Their commander was none other than Philip, the same man who had once thwarted Francis’s attempts to clear out the Lowlands. He was an operative of Andrew.

“Francis,” Philip addressed him with respect, “Commander Zimmer has sent me to attend the funeral. He deeply regrets that he cannot be here in person due to pressing military obligations.”

The trucks shifted aside, allowing room for the procession.

Yet, Francis, consumed by his grief, did not hold back. He pointed an accusatory finger at Philip, his voice rising in anger. “Busy with military work, you say? So busy that he observes our shelter every single day? So busy that he even sends people to spy on us? Sounds like a real busy man to me!”
