Girl's Doomsday Rebirth Revenge & Survive novel Chapter 517

**TITLE: Doomsday Rebirth 517**

The jewelry had vanished without a trace. Was it merely a coincidence? Caroline doubted it.

She felt as if she had already exhausted every avenue, yet her energy reserves were still woefully low. Upgrading her storage space was a necessity, but it required a significant amount of effort.

Instead of wandering aimlessly through the debris of this desolate world, she pondered that perhaps negotiating directly with the leader of this territory would yield quicker results.

Just then, she noticed two figures making their way toward the derelict building where she was concealed.

Caroline observed them closely, her fingers tapping thoughtfully against her chin. This was perfect. She could approach these two men and see if they had any information to offer.

As they ascended the staircase, Caroline flicked her wrist, conjuring a barrage of ice blades that crashed down at their feet with a resounding thud.

It was a calculated warning shot, a clear message that she was not to be trifled with and an effective deterrent against any thoughts of confrontation.

In this post-apocalyptic landscape, Caroline’s youthful appearance often led others to underestimate her.

Thus, she had learned to assert her strength immediately, quelling any potential threats before they could escalate. After all, engaging in a fight would only drain her time and energy.

Both men recoiled in surprise, instinctively adopting defensive stances, their eyes wide with shock.

“Who’s there?” one of them called out, his voice trembling.

As they recognized the young woman standing before them, flanked by her mutated wolfdog, their expressions morphed into a mix of confusion and fear.

Then their gaze fell upon Jet, who was quaking in fear atop Raven’s back. The two men froze, and their mouths began to spill forth hasty apologies.

“W-we thought that the fat bird was a stray! If we had known it belonged to you, we wouldn’t have dared to chase it!”

“Yeah, please, forgive us! We wouldn’t dream of offending someone with your abilities!”

“We’ll make sure the others know not to chase it again. We promise!”

Caroline narrowed her eyes, assessing them. These two were clearly seasoned survivors of the apocalypse—quick to capitulate the moment they sensed they were outmatched.

Jet, sensing the shift in power, puffed out his chest, as if to say, “See? Having a strong human is definitely an advantage.”

She reached into her backpack and retrieved two cans of military rations, placing them deliberately on the ground. Everyone knew that canned military meat held significant value; in certain shelters, it was even considered a form of currency.

The implication was unmistakable. Provide her with useful information, and each man would receive a can of meat. Resist her request, and they would face her ice blades instead.

Caroline even feigned desperation, making it appear as though she had journeyed specifically for holy water. This way, her offer of canned meat seemed like a fair trade.

“I have a friend who desperately needs holy water. I need it before dawn breaks. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be so fortunate right now.”

She tapped one of the cans in front of her, emphasizing her point.

The two men exchanged a long, uncertain glance, hesitation evident in their body language.

“S-some things… can only be revealed if you join our group…” the tall, lanky one stammered.

The darker-skinned man’s eyes darted nervously around them as he added, “If we tell you, will you promise to keep quiet? Will you swear not to reveal that it was us?”

Caroline nodded, her expression resolute. “Absolutely. It’s so dark that I can barely make out your faces. Once we’re done here, we’ll act as if we never crossed paths.”
