Just when I thought everything had settled, I submitted the divorce petition to County Court. Given Nathan’s actions, County Court quickly ruled in my favor.
As I happily headed to the hospital to visit Lily, the police approached me with shocking news.
Nathan had escaped from prison.
I was sitting in the car when the driver suddenly alerted me. “Miss Sterling, I think there’s a car following us.”
I turned and saw a figure in the car that looked suspiciously like Nathan.
Before I could think too much, the driver tried to turn the car around, attempting to shake off the
vehicle behind us.
But unexpectedly, the car behind us suddenly sped up, charging toward us in a crazed attempt to catch up.
Soon, I heard Nathan’s angry roar from behind.
“Vivian Sterling, how dare you send my whole family to prison! I’ll send you straight to hell!”
I couldn’t believe it. Had Nathan lost his mind?
“Heh, you want to touch me? I have no problem sending your whole family to the grave. Taking you down alone isn’t a loss.”
The driver, with years of experience, stepped on the gas, desperately trying to shake him off.
Nathan stuck to me like gum on a shoe–annoying, unwanted, and impossible to get rid of.
The two cars sped down the road at breakneck speed, but I could feel the driver’s desperation as he began to sweat coldly.
“Miss Sterling, up ahead… it’s a cliff!”
What? My heart started pounding wildly. Was I going to die no matter what?
Nathan realized this too, his voice filled with madness as he yelled.
“Vivian Sterling, you think you can escape? I’m already sentenced to death. If I can’t live, neither can you!”
“If I go down in this life, you’re coming with me–and in the next, I’ll still be your curse.”
With that, Nathan pressed down harder on the gas pedal, heading straight for my car. I had already dialed the police, but there was no way they could get here in time.

Was death inevitable, no matter which way we turned? My heart sank into despair.
Just as his car was about to collide with mine, a black car suddenly sped toward us from the
distance.
The black car swerved sharply and slammed into Nathan’s car, flipping it over!
I couldn’t believe it. I was still alive, barely escaping death.
When I looked again, I was stunned to see none other than Tessa in the black car!
Nathan, covered in blood, crawled out of the car, and upon seeing Tessa, he charged toward her in a
frenzy.
“Tessa Monroe, are you crazy? How dare you hit me?!”
Tessa looked at him coldly, saying nothing. She pulled out a short knife and stabbed it into Nathan’s body with brutal force.
Each stab seemed deeper than the last, filled with pure hatred.
Nathan could no longer speak, his body slumping as he fell to the ground, his face frozen in death.
Tessa threw her head back and laughed, as if finally experiencing the exhilaration of revenge.
The police arrived soon after and detained Tessa.
Before leaving, she looked at me with calm eyes.
Her expression was flat as she muttered, her voice a little shaky, “Vivian Sterling, my biggest mistake was trusting the wrong person. I made a mistake I should never have made.”
