Goodbye, My Ex... novel Chapter 5

Johnson’s mansion had been deserted for many years. Now there were only withered garden flowers, an abandoned swimming pool and a field of fallen leaves.

Only on the lunar-white gate, the delicately-carved floral patterns seemed to show the status and reputation of the owner of this villa.

"Here it is." After Jack Lewis stopped the car, he opened the door to get the luggage from the trunk.

Rosemary Johnson took Ryan's little puffy hand and got off from the back seat.

"Jack, thank you. You must be tired after all day. Go back to have a rest early." Rosemary said with a smile when Jack walked to her with the luggage.

"Won’t you invite me in?" Jack gave her a glance at the front entrance of the villa.

"Yes, mommy!"

Ryan looked serious and raised his chubby chin, "Let uncle Jack go in and play with me for a while, OK? The salted egg superman I brought back from America has not assembled yet!"

That pouting little mouth was cute enough to make Rosemary unable to refuse.

The woman’s dimples appeared, raised her hand and gently rubbed the boy's hair, smiling as she did seven years ago.

Just with a little more maternal aura.

...

Charles’s eyes were staring at the slender figure in the rear-view mirror under the shade of the trees, and then looking at her, who gently snuggling with the man in front of her.

His fingers holding the steering wheel tightened slowly and his thin lips pressed coldly.

"Jack, this is my first time back home after seven years. The house hasn't been cleaned yet. It is not very convenient. I’ll invite you in when the house and I are available some other day soon."

At this point, Jack understood her heart. His handsome face overflowed with smile and hid his losses well. "If you need, call me at any time, and I will be here as soon as possible."

"Okay."

Nodding and smiling, Rosemary comforted Ryan a few words, led the little boy who looked not very happy, turned and step up the stairs.

Jack focused on her leaving back, thick long eyelashes covered the ups and downs of his heart.

"Where are they now?"

This huge house was empty, except for him and mommy.

Rosemary turned to look at Ryan who had a curious look on his face. She couldn't help laughing. She stepped forward to embrace his small body and hugged him to the bedroom.

"They went to a far, far away place. Maybe Ryan will never see them in this lifetime."

The big fire seven years ago has buried her parents and her love...

She had nothing but to run away.

“Do you miss your mommy and daddy?”

“Yes, I do.”

Although she missed them, life and death separated them from each other and they never met again.

The revenge, she must finish one day.
