Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 211

**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream**
**by Alyndra Meron Valeen**
**Chapter 211**

As I caught sight of Sebastian’s confident smile, the McKays couldn’t hide their disdain any longer. With a sneer, they shoved me aside, sending me tumbling into the dust, a mere afterthought in their grand narrative.

Victor, regaining the haughty demeanor he had worn like a badge of honor earlier, strode forward with an air of superiority. He raised his hand, demanding silence from the gathering throng, and approached me as if he were a conqueror approaching a vanquished foe.

“Sebastian,” he spat, his voice dripping with derision, “didn’t you claim that I lacked the qualifications to stand against you? What do you have to say now? My father is present, and I’m eager to see if your stubbornness will allow you to admit defeat!”

His voice crescendoed, fueled by the pent-up frustration he had harbored after Claire’s dismissive treatment. Each word was a release of the anger that had festered within him, and he seemed oblivious to the shift in Lawrence’s demeanor behind him.

“Dad,” Victor continued, his tone laced with arrogance, “I’m not sure why you chose to bring a birthday gift for the McKays, but the timing is impeccable. I have my sights set on their daughter, and this pathetic excuse for a man dares to think he can take her from me. Can you believe he thinks he can compete with our family’s wealth? It’s laughable!”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Jeanine stepped forward, her loyalty to Sebastian unwavering. “You dare to call him trash? The real trash is standing right in front of us!”

To Jeanine, Sebastian represented more than just an employer; he was the embodiment of her aspirations, a figure she admired deeply. She would never permit anyone to belittle him, not even for a second.

Victor scoffed, his arrogance swelling with every passing moment. “Hmph! You work for this so-called trash, so what does that make you? You’ll soon find yourself on your knees beside him, wallowing in your own disgrace…” His taunts grew bolder, and he even had the audacity to hurl insults at Jeanine.

“You—” Jeanine’s anger flared, ready to retaliate, but I quickly interjected, pulling her protectively behind me.

Stepping forward, I positioned myself as a barrier between her and Lawrence. “Mr. Blanc,” I began, my tone steady, “I never anticipated our first encounter would unfold in such a setting. However, regardless of the circumstances, your son has unmasked the true nature of Blanc Inc. It’s… quite enlightening.”

The room fell into an eerie stillness. No one had ever witnessed such audacity; it was as if I had thrown a gauntlet at the feet of a giant.

Lawrence, a formidable titan in Astergrad, a man known for his vast influence and power, was rarely challenged. Even Cecil would think twice before addressing him in such a direct manner. Yet here was Sebastian—an unassuming figure—doing just that. His audacity was nothing short of reckless, and the potential for a harsh fallout loomed ominously.

Among the crowd, only Jeanine’s thoughts diverged from the prevailing sentiment. Her loyalty to Sebastian was resolute. If he chose to sever ties, she would stand by him, unwavering in her support.

“Mr. Grimwald,” Jeanine interjected, her voice steady and resolute, “nothing else is of consequence as long as you are satisfied. I will take care of it. This project is exceptional; numerous companies are vying for it, willing to pay triple the penalty fees and offer additional incentives.”

Her words hung in the air, a promise of her commitment to both Sebastian and the opportunity that lay before them.
