Chapter 323: DEATH MATCHES

[LEE SARANG has accepted the <Death Match> with Arken, a Dungeon God.]

What?

"It’s funny that a freak like you has a human-sounding name," Lee Sarang said mockingly, pushing the monster away with a cold energy blast. "It’s disgusting."

Arken, the monster that looked half-human and half-kraken, was pushed back by the cold energy blast— his skin quickly getting covered by ice caused by the said cold energy blast. It was supposed to be enough to turn that thing into an ice statue.

But, perhaps, there was a reason this monster was called a ’Dungeon God.’

Arken literally slapped his cheeks with his big hands as if he was slapping the ice away, and it actually worked.

The thin layer of ice that covered his body for a moment shattered just like that.

This one is dangerous.

"Lee Sarang, do you realize that you just foolishly accepted a Death Match with me?" Arken asked calmly, acting as if he were a dignified nobleman. "Refusing to accept the proposal of a Dungeon God is akin to accepting a Death Match with me."

"You mean your proposal to turn me into a human pet?" Lee Sarang scoffed. "Of course, I’d rather fight you to death than become your human pet."

"What’s so wrong with being my human pet? I’ll treat you well. Unlike my peers, I won’t raise you as livestock. Since I’m interested in the human world, I’ll treat you like a tour guide. So, how about it, Lee Sarang? Does my offer sound tempting now?"

"There are others like you?"

"Oh, the System didn’t tell you?" Arken chuckled while shaking his head. "Thanks to the humans who betrayed their race to welcome Dungeon Gods like us, we were able to reach the human world safely. And we’re here to claim this world as our new home."

Ah, now Lee Sarang remembered something that Ki Gayoon and Noh Yuno had shared with them before.

About the monsters’ goal.

"Claim our world as your new home or turn our world into your huge feeding ground?"

Arken simply raised an eyebrow, neither confirming nor denying Lee Sarang’s claim.

But she took that silence as a ’yes.’

"You’re planning to raise us to be your livestock— and that’s exactly why we can’t co-exist," Lee Sarang said coldly, opening her palm. As soon as she did, the crystal scythe that she had dropped on the ground earlier flew towards her hand. She immediately grabbed the handle. "If a Death Match is what it takes to stop you, then so be it."

"Ah, what a waste," Arken said, obviously disappointed. "I really wanted to keep you alive, Lee Sarang."

Lee Sarang just stabbed the end of the crystal scythe’s handle into the floor, causing a small crater.

And then hundreds of ice spears emerged from the ground— all headed to Arken.

She slammed her feet against the tiles and flew at the monster, ready to swing her crystal scythe at the monster.

But she abruptly stopped when she heard a loud explosion behind her.

The sound of glasses breaking echoed in the hall— a clear sign that the barrier of her companions had shattered.

The kids...!

Lee Sarang swung her crystal scythe and stabbed the blade into the ground, and then she twisted her body in order to run back to her companions.

However, someone pulled her by the leg as soon as she jumped into the air.

When she looked over shoulder, she saw Arken holding her leg— and the monster suddenly threw her in the opposite direction of where she wanted to go.

Haaah.

She covered herself with Mana, hence she didn’t get hurt when her back hit the wall.

In fact, the impact of her hitting it created a small crater.

But before Lee Sarang could move again, Arken was already in her face.

Now she was trapped between the giant monster and the cold wall behind her.

"Don’t worry about your companions, Lee Sarang. I simply kicked them out of my dungeon," Arken said, looking down at Lee Sarang with glowing golden eyes. "Only natural S-Class Espers are qualified to have a Death Match with a Dungeon God, after all."

"You’re one chatty monster, aren’t you?"

It wasn’t Lee Sarang’s style to talk in the middle of a fight.

After all, Ki Gayoon taught her that only weak and stupid people would talk while fighting.

But she also learned from Noh Yuno that running your mouth when you couldn’t fight physically helped.

It wasn’t like that Lee Sarang had lost already.

I just need time to gather more Mana.

Chapter 323: DEATH MATCHES 1

This monster is talking in the middle of our fight because he’s looking down on me.

Chapter 323: DEATH MATCHES 3

I should have moved faster.
