Chapter 49
Chapter 49
Hope’s POV
“Handsome, right?” Beth sighed dreamily as we watched Levi work his magic on set.

Aiden nodded, sounding offended by Levi’s genetics. “Honestly, if Levi wasn’t a hockey player, he still would’ve been successful somehow. He’s so freaking hot.”
“Yeah,” I agreed unconsciously, my eyes still fixed on him.
Despite saying earlier that he didn’t want to do this, he was doing annoyingly well.
His expression was annoyed, but somehow, it worked perfectly for the shoot. The photographer looked seconds away from proposing. Every direction thrown at Levi somehow turned into something magazine-worthy.
And despite the afternoon air growing colder by the minute, my body felt embarrassingly warm. At that moment, my brain decided that this was the perfect moment to remember how close he leaned earlier while I was doing his makeup.
His eyes.
He looked so-
Fuckable.
Woah.
Behave, Hope.
Was it because it had been a while since I had sex?
I shook my head aggressively, forcing myself back to reality. Unfortunately, reality involved Beth and Aiden staring at me with matching knowing expressions.
“What now?” I asked cautiously, already regretting speaking.
“Your eyes, Hope,” Beth said with a smile.
“What about them?”
She grinned. “They look like you’re in love with him.”
“What?” I nearly choked. “How did you even come to that conclusion?”
Aiden sighed before glancing toward Levi.
“Not that Levi is any better,” he muttered. “He definitely has the hots for you, too.”
I immediately looked toward Levi. He was currently lying on the ground while propping himself up slightly with his arms behind him. His shirt had ridden up slightly. His abs somehow still looked toned despite the position.
He then tilted his head back and gulped before slowly looking toward the camera.
The pose somehow looked like something-or someone-was doing very bad things to him. Very bad things.
I looked away. “Again,” I said, clearing my throat. “How did you even come up with that conclusion?”
This time, I looked directly at Aiden.

Chapter 49
“I think you two are delusional.”
“Nope.” Aiden shook his head confidently. “I’ll prove my delusions aren’t actually delusions.”
I crossed my arms. “You know, when I first met you, I thought you’d be colder.”

I looked him up and down. He still dressed like a punk rock band member that looked like he survived entirely on energy drinks and rebellion. However, his personality was literal sunshine.
“That’s what Lia told me too,” he said proudly.
“Anyway, I’ll prove it now.”
I frowned.
“What are you-”
Suddenly, he stepped closer. My eyes widened.
“Aiden?”
He ignored me. Instead, he leaned even closer. His face was suddenly inches away from mine.
I instinctively stepped backward, but he held onto my shoulders to pin me in place.
What the hell?
Aiden was objectively handsome. However, he reminded me too much of my younger brother.
I placed my hand against his chest to push him away.
Then suddenly, the photographer’s voice rang through the space.
“Aiden, look over here!”
We both turned to the set and found that Levi was looking toward our direction.
Aiden finally stepped away. He looked far too pleased with himself.
“Told you,” he said proudly.
I frowned.
“You didn’t prove anything.”
“Gosh,” he said in response. “You’re one hell of a stubborn girl, aren’t you?”
I smiled proudly. “So I’ve been told.”
He sighed deeply before raising both hands.
“I give up.”
He pointed at me accusingly. “You’re not one to believe these things easily even when it’s already obvious, huh?”
I shrugged. “I used to believe easily too.”
The smile slowly disappeared from my face.

Chapter 49
She crossed her arms too before letting out a small sigh.
“Still…”
She glanced toward Levi.
“I understand where Aiden’s coming from.”
Her expression softened.
