Chapter 83
Hope’s POV

“Holy mama. You’re even hotter than the last time I dressed you up for Levi’s dinner,” Freya said as she looked me up and down from head to toe.
I turned to her amidst putting on my second earring and let out a deep breath.
“You’re exaggerating,” I said.
“No, I’m not!” Freya exclaimed, walking closer to me and circling around me like a predator stalking its prey. “You’re, like… glowing!”
“Did you get fucked or something? I swear, it feels like you have an after-sex glow.”
I pursed my lips and turned away from her, pretending to look for my shoes but actually trying to hide from her.
Yup, I got fucked yesterday.
Thoroughly fucked, in fact, that I still felt a little sore.
Fortunately, Lia texted me, saying she was downstairs.
“There’s my friend.”
“Levi?” Freya teased.
“No, Frey,” I sighed. “I told you-it’s my new friend, Lia.”
“Right, right,” she smirked. “Well, I’ll see you when I see you.”
“See you, Frey. Thanks again!”
I strapped on the last of my heels and walked out of her room, entered the elevator, and headed out of the complex.
I stopped in my tracks when I saw what we were supposed to be riding. In front of me was a huge bike, and a woman dressed in a loose black suit removed her helmet.
It was Lia.
Whoa.
I always knew she was a badass, but this was a whole other level.
She looked so freaking cool right now!
She seemed to be mirroring my expression as she stared at me.
“Holy crap,” she muttered. “You look so good, girl! Levi will not be able to take his eyes off your: Why were you hiding your ass and boobs when they’re so nice?”
I puffed up my cheeks.
Freya had said the same thing.
“It’s just more comfortable dressing the way I do,” I muttered.

“I understand,” she said.

Yeah-Lia usually wore similar clothes, though hers were even baggier than mine. Even now, she was wearing a suit, but she looked damn good in it.
“Are you alright with riding my bike? Don’t worry. I won’t drive too fast, so your hair and makeup won’t get ruined.”
I shook my head and put on the helmet without hesitation. “It’s fine,” I said. “You’re already doing me a huge favor by driving me there.”
“It’s a pleasure to drive such a beautiful woman to the party,” she said in a fake posh voice, making me chuckle.
With that, we began driving to the party.
It was going to be held at the biggest hotel in New York since we were the hosts of this year’s Winter Crown.
Coincidentally, it was also Levi’s fifth year in the league as a twenty-five-year-old.
Gosh.
Speaking of him.
Was I even ready to face him today?
We hadn’t talked since I left his room yesterday, but even last night, I had already dreamed about him. It felt like my heart was going to combust if I saw him again.
Unfortunately for me, it didn’t take long before we arrived at the venue.
Lia parked where the motorcycles were.
“I can’t believe you almost missed this party,” Lia said. “It’s always grand, and the food is always the bomb. It’s a good thing we bumped into each other in the break room yesterday. Otherwise, you would’ve only found out through the group chat today.”
“Yeah,” I muttered, although I still hesitated because I truly wasn’t sure if I was prepared to see Levi.
Fortunately, though, Lia was with me.
The two of us entered the hotel and showed our IDs to the guard.
We were given passes and directed to the elevator that led to the highest floor.
There were twenty floors in total, which was insane because the hotel itself already occupied a massive area.
It was my first time entering a place like this.
As we continued ascending, Lia’s phone suddenly rang.
She looked at the caller ID and sighed.
“It’s Aiden,” she muttered. “I told him to meet us at the entrance of the hall.”
I nodded and watched as she answered the call.
It sounded pretty normal in the beginning, but all of a sudden, she started sounding frustrated.
“What do you mean you can’t find the hotel? It’s literally the tallest building in the neighborhood!”

She let out an annoyed sigh.
“I told you to take a cab instead of the bus.”
“Why does it sound like you’re at a club?” she continued.
I turned to her.
“What happened?” I mouthed.
She held out her hand, signaling for me to wait, and continued listening.
“There’s someone with a knife chasing you?”
My eyes widened.
“Gosh, Aiden. Leave that place right now.”
“What are you, eight years old?”
Then she let out a very impatient breath.
“Fine, fine. Just share your location. I’ll come get you.”
