"With those eyes, she watched the stars fall, she watched the tides of the deep sea, and she watched roses bloom from the ashes..."
Grant's feet felt nailed to the floor.
That voice...
A subtle ripple passed through the crowd. Someone spotted Grant and immediately cleared a path for him.
"Mr. Gauthier is here..."
"Tsk, look at his face. He looks so exhausted, and the white flower on his lapel... He really is hopelessly devoted."
"Shh, stop talking. Listen to K's tour."
Grant followed the path the crowd automatically parted for him until he finally saw the woman standing in the center of the hall.
Sienna was wearing an incredibly striking black gown made of light-absorbing velvet, making her practically melt into the surrounding darkness. Only her face and the sliver of exposed neck glowed ethereally under the soft spotlight above her.
She wore zero makeup. Her bare face was infinitely more breathtaking than any heavy cosmetics could ever achieve.
Holding a wireless microphone, she looked incredibly confident and composed, radiating an overwhelming aura of absolute control.
The guests stared at her in awe, especially a few young heirs whose eyes were practically glued to her.
"That's the mysterious K? She's so young! And gorgeous!"
"Her vibe... It's unreal. She looks like an otherworldly Dark Muse."
Grant stared at her, completely losing himself for a moment.
After what felt like an eternity, under the scrutiny of the entire room, he finally took a step toward her. He struggled to force out a single word. "You..."
He managed that one syllable before his voice gave out entirely.
Sienna finally seemed to notice him. She turned her head, her calm gaze landing on him. Her eyes were utterly deadpan, as if looking at an insignificant intruder.
"Mr. Gauthier," she said without lowering the microphone, her icy voice ringing crystal clear across every inch of the hall. "The exhibition has begun. Are you sure you want to face your guests looking like that?"
The surrounding guests and reporters instantly held their breath. Countless eyes darted between the two of them, the thrill of gossip quietly rippling through the dark.
Grant snapped back to reality, awkwardly tearing his gaze away and forcing himself to calm down. He scanned the room, desperately looking for an opening to seize back the upper hand.
