Why was she acting like a completely different person today?
Seraphina sneered. “Do you have proof? Anyone can just make things up!”
Sienna pulled out her phone and opened a folder.
“Of course.”
The screen displayed a still from security footage.
It clearly showed Seraphina locking the dressing room door at the gala two years ago before turning to chat with a staff member.
Sienna held the screen up to her face. “Would you like me to cast this to the projector so everyone gets a better look?”
Seraphina's face drained of color.
Grant's eyes darted over.
He remembered that gala. Sienna had been two hours late, and he had publicly scolded her for lacking basic manners.
She had explained she was locked in.
He hadn't believed her, demanding she stop blaming others for her own incompetence.
Now, faced with the undeniable truth, Grant felt a heavy tightness in his chest.
Cornered and humiliated, Seraphina lashed out. “So what if it was a prank? Digging up old history now—aren't you just trying to ruin Eleanor's birthday party?”
Lyla quickly jumped in. “Sienna, please stop causing a scene on such an important day.”
Grant stepped forward, his voice low and warning. “Sienna, that's enough. There's a limit to how much drama you can cause at a public event.”
“There may have been some misunderstandings in the past, but as my wife, can't you just be magnanimous?”
Magnanimous? She had heard that word for eight years.
Beaten down, she had to be magnanimous. Humiliated, she had to be magnanimous.
Her child was dead, yet no one cared.
The arrogant smirk vanished from Seraphina's face, instantly replaced by a picture-perfect smile. “Eleanor, why did you come down? The banquet hasn't even started.”
Eleanor acted as if she hadn't heard Seraphina at all, not even sparing her a glance.
Her sharp, piercing gaze swept past the elite crowd, landing directly on Sienna in the center of the room.
Sienna's cream-colored dress was stained with champagne from her chest to her waist, the fabric ruined and clinging uncomfortably under the bright chandeliers.
Eleanor's typically kind face morphed into an expression of sheer thunder.
“Who did this?”
Her voice wasn't loud, and she spoke slowly, but the absolute, crushing authority radiating from her made every single guest freeze in terror.
Seraphina's face went from pale to a sickly shade of gray, the sheer panic in her eyes completely unhideable.
“Who dared to bully my Sienna?!”
