Lyla Lennox had been waiting for Sienna Sawyer to change into an ordinary dress so she could continue to overshadow her.

But as things stood, the pink haute couture dress she wore seemed garish and desperate.

Lyla's gaze landed on Grant Gauthier, hoping to catch a glimpse of indifference or disgust on his face.

Instead, she saw Grant standing at the edge of the crowd, his eyes fixed squarely on Sienna. His brow twitched imperceptibly.

It wasn't disgust.

It was absolute mesmerization.

In an instant, Lyla's fingers curled into fists, unable to mask the venomous glare in her eyes.

Sienna walked up to Eleanor Gauthier and spoke softly.

"Eleanor."

Eleanor reached out and took her hand. Her warm palm seemed to catch Sienna perfectly after the humiliating ordeal she had just endured.

"Beautiful."

Eleanor looked at her, without a hint of superficiality in her tone. It was filled with undeniable satisfaction.

"I told you this dress was made for you."

Sienna lowered her gaze, her eyelashes fluttering. The sting of tears she had held back during the earlier humiliation slowly swelled up at this simple, genuine praise.

"Thank you, Eleanor," she said softly.

The birthday banquet soon commenced.

Madeline had originally planned to seat Sienna in the most obscure corner.

But Eleanor sat at the head of the table, and she pulled Sienna right to her side.

Because of this, Sienna's seating placement ended up being even more prominent than Madeline and Nathaniel's.

They were obviously displeased, but neither dared to openly object. They could only pin their hopes on Lyla.

Everyone had heard the whispers about her relationship with Grant.

If forced to choose between Sienna and Lyla, Madeline and Nathaniel would pick the latter without a second thought.

After all, not only did Sienna come from nothing, but they considered her entirely unremarkable and lacking any redeeming qualities.

Lyla lowered her eyes as if blushing from the compliment, but her peripheral vision remained locked on Sienna.

Millions of dollars.

She wanted to see what kind of trash Sienna would produce.

An outcast wife who had been sidelined for years didn't even own a decent piece of jewelry.

No matter how biased Eleanor was, she couldn't praise a piece of junk in front of all these elite guests, right?

Suddenly, someone in the crowd remarked, "Such an expensive gift. No wonder Mr. Gauthier dotes on her so much. She really is thoughtful."

At those words, Eleanor shot a sharp, icy glare across the room.

The speaker instantly realized their mistake and quickly ducked their head in shame.

Throughout it all, Grant hadn't said a single word.

Lyla opened the display box.

The white alabaster sculpture rested on red velvet. Under the lights, the stone looked luminous and flawless—it was undeniably a spectacular piece.
