The Gauthier estate.

Nathaniel slammed his phone onto the coffee table, face up. The glaring headline of the viral post stung the eyes.

"Take a good look at the wonderful wife you married!"

Madeline sat in the mahogany chair opposite him, her hand perfectly steady as she held her teacup, though her face was completely ashen.

Her tea had already gone cold; she hadn't taken a single sip.

Grant stood in the middle of the living room, his expression horrifyingly dark, having clearly been summoned straight from the office.

Nathaniel pointed aggressively at the screen, his voice piercing. "Look at the comments down there! Do you see how many people are ripping into our family? The hashtag boycotting The Gauthier Group is already trending!"

Grant glanced at the screen, a heavy scowl forming on his face.

"PR is handling it."

"Handling it?" Nathaniel scoffed bitterly. "Can you even handle it? Sienna's psychotic family didn't just storm the company demanding millions of dollars; they're smearing our name all over the internet."

"I told you from the very beginning that woman was no good, but you insisted on marrying her."

Madeline tried to smooth things over. "It was his grandmother who forced Grant to marry Sienna in the first place. You can't blame him."

"Besides, she's got the eldest son of the Lowery family backing her up now. The photos are practically shoved in our faces."

Nathaniel demanded in a deep, gravelly voice. "Grant, let me ask you one thing. What exactly is the relationship between Sienna and that Lowery boy?"

Grant's temple throbbed wildly.

That was exactly what he wanted to know.

"I have no idea."

"No idea?" Nathaniel repeated, his fury barely contained. "You are her husband, and you're telling me you have no idea?"

The living room fell dead silent for a few seconds.

Madeline immediately started up again.

"I told you all along. A girl coming from a low-class family like Sienna was rotten from the very roots."

"Flirting around outside and dragging the Gauthier family down to get blasted by the entire internet. Grant, if you had just listened to me and gotten rid of her earlier, would we be dealing with this today?"

Grant didn't reply.

His mind was entirely focused on the photos in the thread. Sienna and Lucas looked incredibly intimate, as if they had known each other for years.

Could it be...

He actually didn't even know where she was anymore.

The realization sent a completely foreign wave of irritation and panic surging through Grant's chest.

It felt like a red-hot iron spike violently piercing right into his heart.

He couldn't fathom how a woman who had treated him as her entire world for the last eight years—who seemingly couldn't survive without him—could change so drastically overnight.

He gripped the phone so tightly out of sheer rage that his assistant panicked, terrified the ruthless boss was going to smash the device to pieces.

A moment later, Grant leaned back into his seat and closed his eyes.

"Drive to Lowery & Co."

The assistant shrank back. "To Lowery & Co?"

"Do you not understand English?"

"...Yes, Boss."

...

Lowery & Co. Headquarters.
