The brushstrokes were incredibly unique. It wasn't meticulously polished or delicate; instead, it held a reckless, raw intensity, as if the artist had violently poured their entire soul and breaking bones into the canvas.

It was K's work. He had seen it online before.

And now, this exact painting was hanging right here in Lucas's office.

It wasn't a print. It wasn't a replica. It was the original piece!

How on earth did Lucas get his hands on an original piece by K?

Was he also trying to secure K and Hunter's support to rival him for the West City project?

In a split second, the blind fury Grant felt over a woman was rapidly replaced by a much colder, calculated corporate vigilance.

He smoothly pulled his gaze away, acting as if his sudden pause had been nothing more than an illusion.

Lucas finally bothered to tear his eyes away from the canvas and look at him. His expression held zero surprise, only faint mockery.

"Mr. Gauthier, what a rare guest. To what do I owe this displeasure?"

His tone was as completely indifferent as if he were greeting a random plumber at his door.

Grant strode right up to him, looking down with a voice entirely dipped in ice.

"Lucas, I don't have time for your games. Where is Sienna?"

Upon hearing that, Lucas let out a low chuckle, as if he had just heard the greatest joke in the world.

He slowly rose to his feet. He was the exact same height as Grant, but his aura was calmly, terrifyingly dominant.

"Mr. Gauthier, you come looking for someone, and you come to me?"

He raised a hand, his fingertips grazing the edge of the easel with a touch as tender as caressing a lover's skin.

Lucas scoffed, entirely unbothered by being labeled a home-wrecker.

"Let me correct you. Miss Sawyer is an independent adult. Where she chooses to go and where she chooses to live is entirely her own freedom. I merely provided a little insignificant assistance."

Outside the office, Sienna had come looking for Lucas. Just as she raised her hand to knock, the sound of that sickeningly familiar voice inside made her freeze.

She furrowed her brow.

Grant? What was he doing here?

The voices inside didn't stop. Grant pointed at the painting with a bitter sneer.

"Lucas, drop the act. You went through all this trouble to secure K's original work just so you could steal the West City art park project from me, didn't you?"

"And you're hiding my wife just to disgust me and force The Gauthier Group to make concessions at the negotiating table."
