Dylan’s POV

I open the door to welcome Julia into the cabin.

“Natalie and my brothers will be down in a minute. May I get you anything to drink? I believe Nat was going to prepare some sandwiches too.”

“I could go for a beer if you have one,” Julia replies. Dylan observes that he is carrying a giant sketchbook and a pencil bag.

“Hi Julia, thanks for coming,” Natalie says as she descends the spiral staircase.

I fetch beers for Julia, myself, and my brothers, and I pour some sweet tea into a glass for my girl.

“Thank you, baby,” she says when I hand her the glass.

She settles into a lounge chair beside where Julia is seated. He occupies the other lounge chair, so I take a seat on the couch across from them.

“Okay, beautiful, let’s get started,” Julia says, opening his bag and extracting a pencil.

“Do not call my girl beautiful,” Clayton growls as he and Logan come down the stairs.

“This is my hometown. When I got out, I returned here and became the local artist. I mostly do family portraits. I met this beautiful girl at the grocery store in town and I had to paint her. She wants me to paint you guys, along with a friend of hers and her guys.”

She nods.

“How do you guys know each other?” I ask Clayton.

“We served together. I can’t believe this.”

I laugh and look at Natalie. She appears happy to see Clayton happy. This is what I love about her. She is accepting of all of us; she wants to see all of us just as happy as we want to see her. God, I do love

Clayton, Logan, and I observe as Julia sketches her in different poses. Then, while he works on us, Natalie prepares sandwiches. For hours, we talk and become acquainted with Julia a little more. He seems like a cool guy, and we invite him to visit us in Florida when he gets the chance. He leaves with the promise of contacting us in two weeks about the finished work. He laughs when he receives Scar’s picture.

“So, I think you owe me an apology,” Natalie says to Clayton and Logan.

“Why is that?” Clayton asks.

I chuckle at his stupidity. It looks like I will be sleeping next to our girl tonight.
