He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

(Daisy’s POV)

Some people don’t deserve dramatic entrances.

Josh somehow still managed one.

He didn’t even try. He just walked in, sat down like he owned oxygen, and suddenly the room felt smaller. Tighter Like the air had been replaced with something sharp and irritating.

I was still standing when everyone else had already adjusted.

Staring.

Because no- no, this was not happening.

“What are you doing here?”

My voice came out steadier than I felt, which was impressive, considering my brain had just thrown itself against a wall and slid down dramatically.

Josh leaned back in his chair like this was a casual reunion and not the beginning of my personal nightmare.

“I’m here to save your miserable asses,” he said, smiling like he’d just delivered good news.

I blinked once.

Then twice.

“We don’t need you here,” I said, sharper now. “You should leave. I don’t know what you think you’re doing, but-no.”

He shrugged like I’d just commented on the weather.

“I don’t want to be here either.”

That paused me for half a second.

Then he added, almost lazily, “Your lecturer came to meet me.”

I frowned. “That’s not true.”

Josh tilted his head toward the front of the room, where the lecturer was shuffling papers like he hadn’t just ruined my life.

“You can ask him,” Josh said. “He practically begged me.”

I turned.

And right on cue, the lecturer cleared his throat like a man who had made a decision and was fully committed to standing by it.

even if it was stupid.

“Now that Josh has joined the group,” he began, addressing all of us, “you will benefit from his… experience. After this session, you may meet him privately if you require further guidance.”

I stared at him.

Then back at Josh.

Then back at him again.

So this was real.

This was actually real.

Somewhere deep inside my chest, something snapped quietly and then just… settled into a simmer.

Josh smiled like he could hear it.

Of course he could.

He always did enjoy things like this.

I sank into my seat slowly, but the moment didn’t leave me. It just… shifted.

Because the worst part wasn’t that he was here.

The worst part was that it made sense.

Josh had always been good at math.

No- good was too small a word.

He had been the best.
