Chapter 110
I leaned back in my seat. “…You are incredibly annoying.”
I’ve been told,
I exhaled. “Okay. Fine. You like everything else: Great.”
I paused, then continued carefully. “So… you’d probably like someone who’s beautiful, funny, smart, Maybe dark-haired. Confident.
That kind of person.”
He glanced at me. “You think so?”
“Yes.”
“That s… tolerable.”
“Tolerable?’ I turned to him. “That is a premium combination!”
He smirked slightly. “Alright. Acceptable.”
I rolled my eyes. “Good. Glad we’ve established that.”
A beat passed and then I added, carefully: “So… uh, there’s a possibility that someone like that, uhm, might be-
“Is it one of your friends who has a crush?” he cut in smoothly.
I froze. Then glared. “You are so full of yourself.”
“It wasn’t?”

At some point, I took a shower, changed into something comfortable, and kept going. Adrian was somewhere in the apartment. I didn’t check. I didn’t need to. As long as he was here, we were good.
Time passed. Evening settled in. Then my phone buzzed.
Aria: Almost there. Two minutes.
My heart jumped. “Oh God.”
I looked around. Everything looked… good. Good enough. Maybe.
