Chapter 161
[Daisy’s POV)
I made it exactly three minutes into my plan before discovering a very serious flaw.
I had no idea where Archer lived.
The realization arrived while I sat in the cab while the driver was attempting to confirm my direction and drive.
He turned back properly. “Where to?”
Good question.
Unfortunately, I did not have a worthy answer. Because while deciding to go to someone’s place in the middle of an emotional breakdown sounded dramatic, impulsive and vaguely movie-worthy, it also required knowing where that person actually lived. A detail I had somehow skipped.
The driver waited. I continued staring. Eventually I apologized and stepped out, allowing him to drive off while I stood there feeling like I had just failed a
very simple exam.
Fantastic. I was apparently too heartbroken to remember basic logistics.
For a moment, I considered calling Archer. The thought lasted all of five seconds. Then ten for which my finger even hovered over his contact. But every time I imagined him answering, I hesitated.
What exactly would I say?
“Hello, Archer. I suddenly want to visit you and don’t know your address. Could you help me complete this very poorly planned emotional crisis?”
Nope.
I lowered my phone and shoved it back into my pocket. Maybe I didn’t need Archer’s address. Maybe I just needed time. Time to stop crying. Time to stop
thinking. Time to stop feeling like someone had reached into my chest and replaced all my internal organs with broken glass.
