He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly novel Chapter 228

Chapter 228

Every few seconds my eyes found her.

Every few seconds I looked back to the road.

“Stay with me,” I said quietly, though I knew she couldn’t hear me.

The hospital finally appeared ahead.

I turned sharply into the entrance, tyres screeching across the pavement as the SUV shot into the parking area.

An elderly couple crossing toward the entrance froze.

I slammed on the brakes just short of them.

“What is wrong with you?” the old man shouted.

“Are you trying to kill somebody?”

Neither of them existed to me.

I was already out of the vehicle before either finished speaking.

The rear door flew open.

I gathered Daisy into my arms again and hurried toward the entrance.

“Emergency!” someone yelled.

Almost instantly, nurses rushed toward me pushing a hospital bed.

“Sir, place her-”

“No.”

I didn’t even slow down.

The bed wasn’t moving fast enough.

I carried her myself, striding through the corridors until we reached the emergency unit. Only when the medical team physically surrounded us did I lower Daisy onto the waiting bed.

They pushed her toward the intensive care unit without hesitation.

One of the male nurses attempted to move past me while I clearly had called for his attention.

I caught him by the collar.

He froze.

His eyes widened.

“You tell me everything.”

My voice was low enough that only he heard it.

“Every development. Every complication. Every change.”

He nodded rapidly.

“And if you don’t…”

I tightened my grip just enough for him to understand I meant every word.

“…I’ll come in there myself. I don’t care what your protocols say.”

“I-I understand.”

I released him.

He stumbled back toward the others.

One final sentence stopped him before he disappeared through the ICU doors.

“She survives.”

He turned back to me.

“That’s not a request.”

He swallowed visibly before hurrying inside.

The doors swung shut behind them.

Silence followed.

I stood alone in the corridor, staring at the closed doors while every instinct inside me screamed to move.

To hunt Aria.

To finish what she’d started.

To find Roman Volkov.
