He Didn’t Kidnap Me. Not Exactly
Chapter 319
Tisy’s POV)
After DeLuca said that word… “none,”
It happened faster than I could actually watch it happen.
DeLuca’s hand moved, the gun already in it, already swinging from one target to the next, and the sound that followed didn’t register as individual shots so much as one continuous, violent noise tearing through the room. Five of them, almost on top of each other.
My whole body flinched so hard my teeth clacked together, and I didn’t understand, in that first fraction of a second, what I was even hearing.
Then a sixth shot rang out.
And DeLuca went down.
He dropped beside me, one hand clutching his stomach, knees buckling until he was sinking toward the floor in something that almost looked like kneeling if kneeling ever came with that much blood.
Everything froze.
The room held itself perfectly still for one impossible second, like the world needed that pause just to catch up with what had actually happened. I forced my eyes around the space, and four of Volkov’s men lay motionless on the ground, each one struck with brutal, surgical precision, mostly through the head.
Only Volkov and Alexandro remained standing- though Alexandro wasn’t really standing at all, leaning hard against the table, blood soaking through his
side, groaning.
DeLuca had done it. In the space of a single breath, he’d taken down four men with a precision that didn’t feel human, wounded Alexandro badly enough to put him against that table.
He’d missed Volkov.
Because Volkov stood there with his own gun raised, smoke still curling faintly from the barrel, having returned fire before DeLuca could finish what he
started.
I dropped to my knees beside him, hugging him, dread flooding through me so completely I could barely draw a full breath. My hands found his stomach and came away slick and warm, and the reality of that hit me somewhere far past thought.
DeLuca.” My voice shook so badly I barely recognized it. “You’re bleeding.”
I knew that. I could see it. I said it anyway, because some part of me needed to hear it out loud before I could actually believe it.
He had always been the untouchable one. The one who walked into rooms full of gans and somehow made it look like he owned the outcome before it happened. Watching him like this -bleeding, grimacing, human in a way I’d never once let myself picture – cracked something open in me that I didn’t know how to close back up.
I pressed both hands hard against the wound, trying to stop what i had no idea how to actually stop.
Trapressive, Volkov said. Really impressive.”

my men, in one motion, he continued, like Alexandro hadn’t spoken at all. “Truly impressive. But you forgot something important. There’s still a this room. One who knows every trick worth knowing. He tilted his head slightly. “The bullet meant for me, I let find my brother instead. If I en fast enough, you might have gotten the ending you came looking for.”
