Chapter 68
(Daisy’s POV)
I woke up sore.
It genuinely felt like my body had been used for something questionable overnight.
So I stayed still for a moment, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out why and which part of me,I could move without regretting
I turned my head then to realize Lilian was still asleep beside me, completely at peace.
One of her hands was thrown across my stomach with her leg halfway over mine like she had claimed territory in her sleep and refused to give it back.
I stared with the realization that she was the one who made my body sore because of how much subconscious battles I probably fought through the night.
“You’re a menace,” I told her and carefully lifted her arm off me and shifted her leg away, less gently this time. She stirred, stiffened, then settled again like nothing had happened.
I pushed myself up, stretching slightly and immediately regretting it.
“I need compensation for this discomfort,” I said to myself.
“Mm?” Lilian mumbled now, eyes still closed.
I turned to her, “You fought me in your sleep.”
“Did I win?” she asked lazily and I stared at her. She was waking up
“Your silence tells me that I did.” She muttered again as she stirred.
I grabbed my pillow and dropped it angrily on her face.
She reacted and laughed, finally opening her eyes. “Good morning.”
“It’s not good,” I said. “My neck aches, Lilian.”
“But you survived. That’s what matters.”
“Barely.”
She stretched lazily again, looking far too refreshed for someone who had just spent the night attacking me unconsciously.
He glanced at me. “You’re awake.”
“I usually am,” I replied. “At a normal time.”
