One day, Felix brought Hazel directly to the villa to live.
“Stella, what’s past is past. Hazel still needs to recover, and I don’t feel comfortable with her living elsewhere. Starting today, she’ll be living here. I hope you… can get along with her peacefully.”
From that day on, the “home” that had once belonged to her and Felix completely became his and Hazel’s love nest.
Stella was forced to listen to their uninhibited laughter and watch as Felix spoiled Hazel rotten.
They kissed on the living room sofa, made love on the dining room table, and even had sex in front of the piano that had once been hers.
The housekeepers all kept their heads down, hurrying past, daring not to look or listen.
Until late one night, Stella was woken by the sound of urgent footsteps and panicked shouts.
She opened her door just in time to see Felix, his clothes disheveled, his face a mask of unprecedented panic, carrying a similarly disheveled Hazel in his arms. Hazel was moaning in pain, blood seeping from between her legs. He rushed downstairs like a madman and out the door.
A short while later, the butler came upstairs, his expression complex. “Ma’am, the master has instructed that you be taken to the hospital.”
Stella didn’t ask any questions and silently followed the butler to the car.
It was only at the hospital that she found out what had happened.
Due to overly vigorous intercourse, Hazel had suffered a ruptured ovarian cyst. When she was rushed to the emergency room, they also discovered she was pregnant, which had triggered a severe hemorrhage. Her condition was critical.
The rescue effort required a massive blood transfusion, but Hazel had a rare Rh negative blood type, and the blood bank was running low.
And Stella was also Rh–negative.
Ignoring Stella’s refusal, Felix had her taken directly to the blood donation room.
“Draw it!” Felix roared at the doctor. “Keep drawing until Hazel is out of danger!”

Chapter 9
The doctor hesitated. “Mr. Vance, Miss Winter’s body is very weak. If we keep drawing, she might…”
“I don’t care if she dies!” Felix cut him off. “We have to save Hazel and my child!”
I don’t care… If she dies….
Stella lay there, listening to those bone–chilling words, and suddenly remembered a long time ago. She had just had a bad cold, and he had stayed by her bedside for three days and nights, dark circles under his eyes, holding her hand and saying over and over, “Stella, get better soon. If anything happens to you, what will I do?”
Now, he could watch her blood be drained from her body and casually say, “I don’t care if she dies.”
An overwhelming wave of grief and absurdity washed over her. Her vision went black, and she lost consciousness again.
When she woke again, she was alone.
Just then, her phone rang. It was City Hall. “Miss Winter, your divorce cooling–off period is over. You can come and pick up your divorce certificate.”

Stella stumbled to her feet and walked out of the room.
As she passed Hazel’s room, she saw Felix leaning over Hazel’s stomach, his face beaming with the joy of impending fatherhood.
The sight of them nestled together stung her eyes, but her heart was already numb.
She said nothing and turned to leave.
After getting the divorce certificate, Stella returned to the villa to pack her things.
She didn’t actually have much. Of all the jewelry, bags, and fine clothes Felix had given her, she didn’t take a single thing.
