Chapter 14
The staff members were stunned for a moment. After carefully checking his credentials, they agreed to turn Seraphina over to him.
After the staff left, Dante finally relaxed his clenched fists. Since he couldn’t see Evelyn now, he would wait five years and find her the moment he could.
As long as he could earn her forgiveness and be with her again, whether it took five years, ten years, or a lifetime, Dante would wait.
But before that, he absolutely wouldn’t let Seraphina continue her rampage. Before Evelyn finished her research, he would make Seraphina pay back everything she owed her.
His eyes were dark and brooding, like the calm before a storm.
The next day, Seraphina was delivered to Dante’s house. Because of the sensitive nature of aerospace work and Seraphina’s serious violations, the agency staff
didn’t dare let her come on her own–they escorted her like a prisoner to Dante.
Seraphina, who had looked completely defeated, immediately brightened with hope when she saw him.
‘Dante! You already worked things out, right?” She thought Dante had used his military authority to protect her.
But Dante’s gaze didn’t linger on her for even a moment. He glanced at her dismissively, then spoke with the agency personnel.
Only after ensuring he wouldn’t cover for her did the agency staff officially leave.
The door slammed shut with a bang, and hope flared even brighter on Seraphina’s face.
‘Dante, I knew you wouldn’t abandon me. Those things were all accidents, I-”
‘Shut up!” Dante cut off Seraphina’s words. Outside, he’d constantly suppressed his emotions, but now that they were finally alone, facing Seraphina, he no onger restrained the fury and disgust in his eyes. He grabbed her throat and lifted her up.
What gives you the right to say my name? The things you’ve done are so filthy–you even drove Evelyn away!” Every word was heavy with threat, making Seraphina clearly feel the danger.
she trembled in Dante’s grip, her face first turning red from lack of air, then blue. She struggled desperately, shaking her head.
‘It wasn’t me, it wasn’t me… Dante, please let me go…”
3ut Dante didn’t respond to Seraphina’s pleas. His sinister gaze fixed on that face–a face he’d once thought beautiful now filled him only with revulsion. No natter how pretty the exterior, the inside was rotten.
Thinking of everything she’d done to Evelyn, Dante couldn’t stop his rage. Seraphina’s toes barely touched the ground as she fought for oxygen, but she couldnt break free from that powerful grip.
he could only beg continuously, tears streaming from her eyes.
Dante, forgive me, I know I was wrong…”
I know I was wrong, Dante, Dante…”
Finally, her voice grew weaker and weaker, her struggles smaller and smaller. Just when she thought she would die there, Dante suddenly released her. Seraphina collapsed to the floor, coughing violently.
But she didn’t forget what she had to do. Seraphina, face covered in tears, slowly crawled over to grab Dante’s pants leg
In the past, whenever she played pitiful, Dante would feel sorry for her. She spoke with fake grievance:
“Dante, have you forgiven me? I really know I was wrong. I’ll never do those things again. I know you can help me–please help me…”
