Crash!
A loud bang, and shards flew everywhere.
“Sabine! When are you going to stop this?!”
Damian roared, the veins on his temples bulging.
“Lorelei is gone! The press conference is a disaster! The company’s stock price keeps dropping because of this mess! Can you just give it a rest?”
Startled by his sudden outburst, Sabine flinched instinctively.
But her spoiled nature made her push back, her voice sharp and defiant.
“Why are you yelling at me! You were the one who treated me badly first! I’m going back to Miami! I’m leaving right now!”
“Go back to Miami?”
Damian cut her off, his eyes sharp as a knife, with a chilling, all–knowing coldness.
You can’t go back, and you haven’t been able to for a while, have you?”
He took a step forward, staring down at the pale–faced Sabine.
That last firefight at the docks, your Montoya family took heavy losses. You’re seriously weakened. Your influence isn’t what it used to be.”
Those guys who were after you, the ones who kidnapped Lorelei, they’re probably back in Miami right now, just waiting for you to walk into their trap.”
‘The truth is, you don’t dare set foot in Miami right now, do you?”
Sabine’s eyes widened, her lips trembling, wanting to argue.
But under Damian’s knowing gaze, she couldn’t get a single word out.
she hadn’t expected Damian to have found out even this.
Looking at her like this, Damian felt a profound sense of helplessness wash over him.
le pinched the bridge of his nose, which was throbbing with pain, his voice filled with exhaustion.
Sabine, since you still need the Blackwood family’s protection to live safely, could you please just behave yourself?”
With that, he stopped looking at her pale face.
le turned and, stepping on the scattered debris, walked heavily back upstairs.
he bedroom door closed behind him, shutting out everything from downstairs.
Damian leaned his back against the door, slowly sliding to the floor, and buried his face in his knees.
Whether it was Miami or Vegas, these were places his influence couldn’t penetrate.
