Chapter 2
Stella froze, feeling as if she’d been struck by lightning.
She didn’t know if it was because of the sudden accident, or because Hazel had actually been pregnant with Felix’s
child.
She and Felix had been married for five years, always using protection, and had never had a child.
But how long had he and Hazel been together? To think that…
A week later, Felix returned.
He said nothing. No questions, no shouting. He just stared at her for a long time with an unreadable, bottomless gaze.
Then, he grabbed her and began to tear at her clothes, almost violently.
“Felix! What are you doing!” Stella struggled in terror.
But he didn’t listen, pinning her down on the bed, his movements filled with a desperate madness.
From that night on, for a whole month, Felix was like a different person.
He stopped going to the office, stopped caring about Hazel, and just relentlessly demanded Stella’s body day and night.
Multiple times a day, almost without rest, with a sense of self–torture and punishment.
Stella’s body couldn’t take it, and her heart was filled with humiliation, but a small, humble hope began to grow within her.
Maybe he was just in too much pain. Maybe he had come to his senses and was trying to use this to forget Hazel and go back to how they were before?
So, she endured it silently, even cooperating with him.
Until one day, after a violent bout of nausea, a sense of unease led her to secretly go to the hospital for a check–up, The result was–she was pregnant.
Stella caressed her still–flat stomach, a flicker of hope rising in her heart. Maybe this child could save their marriage.

Chapter 3
Stella signed her name on the paper and then called for her lawyer.
“Draft a divorce agreement.” Her voice was terrifyingly calm.
The lawyer nodded. “Of course, Mrs. Vance. Once the agreement is drafted, there will be a one–month cooling–off period. After that, if neither party objects, City Hall will notify you to come and receive your divorce certificate.”
“I understand.” Stella nodded, her face devoid of expression. “As soon as possible.”
After the lawyer left, Stella was alone in the hospital room.
She closed her eyes. There were no tears.
Her heart was already empty, too weak to even feel sorrow.
Just then, the door to the room was gently pushed open.
Stella thought it was the lawyer returning. She opened her eyes, only to see the one face she least wanted to see at
that moment–Hazel.
She never expected Hazel to come looking for her.
“What are you doing here?” Stella’s voice was hoarse.
“Mrs. Vance,” Hazel still had that gentle, timid demeanor, and she was carrying a thermos. “I know what Felix did to you. It’s such a shame I wasn’t there, or I would have done everything in my power to stop him.”
Stella looked at her coldly, having no interest in listening to such hypocritical words.
But Hazel continued on her own, her voice catching with a sob. “But you have to understand him too… When our baby was gone, Felix was so heartbroken… He held me and cried like a child, saying it was the fruit of our love…. He didn’t eat or drink for days and nights, just sat by my hospital bed…”
Every word was like a poisoned blade, slowly and cruelly slicing into Stella’s already ravaged heart.
“If that’s all you came here to say,” Stella cut her off, her voice hoarse and cold, “then you can leave. You’re not welcome here.”
Hazel flinched as if frightened, then held up the thermos. “I… I won’t say any more. Mrs. Vance, I made you some

soup, to help you recover. You’ve had a miscarriage, your body is weak right now, you need to drink a lot to get your strength back…”
“I’m not drinking it. Take it away.” Stella turned her head away in disgust.
But the timidness on Hazel’s face vanished in an instant, replaced by a stubborn coldness. “Well… I’m afraid that’s
not up to you.”
She lunged forward, grabbing Stella’s chin with one hand with surprising strength. With the other, she picked up the
thermos and tried to force its contents into her mouth!
“Let me go! Hazel! What are you doing!” Stella struggled weakly, but she was no match for her strength.
When Hazel finally let go, Stella leaned over the side of the bed, coughing violently, her stomach churning.
Hazel watched her miserable state, slowly wiping her hands, a tearful smile on her face. “How was it? Did it taste good?”
Stella snapped her head up, an extreme sense of dread rising within her. “This isn’t recovery soup… What the hell is
this?!”
Hazel’s eyes were red–rimmed, tears falling freely, but her gaze was as cold as a viper’s. She said, clearly and deliberately, “You don’t recognize it? Inside… is the flesh and blood… of that child of yours that never even had a
