218 Pina colada.
Leilani.
My hands trembled slightly as I walked through the glass doors of the dimly lit restaurant, so in order to hide my anxiety from prying eyes, I stuffed my hands deep into my pockets and raised my chin up high, my heart racing with- was that anxiousness- as I walked down to the table I had reserved about an hour ago.
Thankfully, Zevran was not here yet, so I took the opportunity to gather my thoughts a little while I waited for him.
I had no idea what to expect from this meeting but I knew that I needed information. I needed to know what he knows, to fully understand what he was talking about in the so-called note he’d left for me. I also wanted to understand why he was taking it up upon himself to help me, and as all of these fleeted across my mind, I couldn’t help but think back to Agnes who was currently living in my guest room… then Louis, who was locked up in one of the dungeons back at Jay’s pack.
My life had gone from simple to a series of unfortunate events these past few days and I simply wanted it to stop.
I wanted Chalice and her toy, Louis out of my hair. Needed Darius out of my life… wait do I really want that?
And most of all, I wanted, no needed, to go on a long vacation.
I sighed.
“Good day ma’am, is there anything you’d like me to offer you?” A soft feminine voice suddenly called out and I glanced up just them to find a beautiful beautiful plus sized lady with the name tag ‘Jessy’ sitting pretty on her chest staring down at me.
Her smile was as bright as the sun and all of the stars put together but I didn’t miss the mane of short silver hair hidden behind her hideous cap.
That seemed to put me a little on edge and I was only snapped out of it when she waved her hand in my face, her voice small as she called out; “Ma’am?”
“Huh?”
“Is there anything you’d like me to get for you?” She asked again and this time, I managed to shake myself out of my momentary daze. I smiled politely despite the way my heart raced frantically in my chest.. and then I picked up the menu, glanced through it quickly and sighed;

“Just get me a glass of pina colada.”
She made a satisfied sound under her breath and rushed away, only to return a few minutes later with the drink and a wider smile, her voice soft as she whispered the words;
“It’s on the house!”
I froze in surprise, smiling as I slapped my hand on my chest and rasped; “Really?”
“Yes!” She squealed excitedly, “…our boss just referred to you as a special guest.” She added and that made me frown slightly.
It sent all the warning bells in my head going off, and goddess, I wanted to ask who the boss was until I vaguely caught the glimpse of another head filled with wild silver sitting across the room that seemed oddly too familiar. However, before I could comment on it, my wolf went into overdrive. My body thrummed with a sudden weird kind of excitement and my core trembled when a mouthwatering sweet scent filled my nostrils.
The door to the restaurant creaked open just then too and I looked up to find Zevran strolling in like he owned the place, his face a mask of indifference as he stalked closer.
What the actual…?
For a very long time, I have always refrained from looking too closely at him. I have always tried to keep him and his brothers at arm’s length; So tell me why the F**k I was looking at him now? Tell me why for some reason, I couldn’t help but notice how hot he looked this evening, his face stone cold as he walked over. 4
But when he got to me, he smiled, sat down and crossed his arms over his chest, his voice too soft as he dragged out the word; “Hi”
And goddess, why did that sound so hot?
Jesus, what the F**k is happening to me?
I felt a flip in my stomach and I knew myself too damn well to know that I wasn’t attracted to him in that way, so what the F**k was this?
Why am I looking at his large biceps?
Why does it feel like my skin is heating up whenever he stares at me for a second too long?
My lips suddenly felt dry and I darted out my tongue to wet them, only to retract it as fast as I brought it out when his eyes trailed that action.

I gulped. “Hi.”
“You asked to see me,” he continued easily, but from the reddened tips of his ears, I knew that he was far from having it easy. If anything, he was having a hard time just like
I was.
And it only got worse when the beautiful waitress came back, leaned forward slightly and asked me in a small voice; “What can I get your boyfriend?”
I frowned.
“Huh?”
“Your man here… what can I-”
“A bottle of scotch.”
“He’s not my boyfriend.”
We both answered simultaneously and I nearly face-palmed myself when the girl stilled. Her eyes darted between Zevran’s and I, and probably after realising that she doesn’t want to spend the rest of her day wondering what was wrong with us, she shook her head and turned away, mumbling something along the lines of; ‘And they look so good together,” under her breath before she walked off.
Hey chat, do you want to know how I felt as soon as I heard that?
Yes?
Okay, simple. I was… Irritated.
Utterly and totally irritated. I immediately lost my appetite and had an inexplicable
to ask Zevran to leave, especially since he was just smiling through all of it like a
creep.

If I didn’t know better, I would’ve sworn that he was enjoying this so I glanced away, bit down on my lips and focused on the setting sun instead of his face.
After the waitress was done and had returned to serve the last of our drinks, she turned away and left, her eyes lingering on him a second too long.
I also noticed the way she swerved her waist a little too forcefully and Jesus, if I wasn’t in such a sour mood, I would’ve taken it upon myself to inform her that he was married… to my sister.
I sighed. “You said you had a bit of information for me.”
“I said your father confessed some things to Caelum.” He replied quickly, his eyes

lingering on my face and lips for a moment too long.
“There were some things he talked about… same things that I know you already know
about-”
“Things like what?” I snapped, interrupting him and immediately snapped my lips together when he stopped to stare at me.
“You keep forgetting that I told you I overheard your conversation with that lycan.” He drawled, immediately causing my heart to start pounding against my chest.
As if noticing my discomfort, he leaned closer, smiled softly and said; “Your father said that your bio father is a Lycan… so whoever that male was, he may be right.”
