"Why? What gives you the right to restrict my freedom? Aren’t you afraid I’ll take revenge on you for doing this?"
Shen Tang resorted to her old trick, conjuring an Ice Blade between her claws.
The next second, the thin Ice Blade shattered.
Liu Ye opened his eyes and looked at her.
Those blue eyes were hidden in the darkness, with moonlight streaming in from the window, casting a haunting gleam in his pupils, like the enchanting aura of a sea monster under the moonlight.
"I warn you, stop using those clumsy tricks, they don’t work on me."
He looked amused, "Unless you really want to die, I won’t stop you."
Shen Tang was so angry she could have clawed him to death.
"You wicked bastard by nature! Shameless scoundrel! Villain! Hypocrite! Bastard!"
Shen Tang hurled every word she could think of at him.
The young man closed his eyes, ignoring her completely.
Shen Tang grew tired from cursing, eventually quieting down. She lay in the cage, glaring at the chains on her body, angrily gnawing at them.
Humph!
Do they really think this could trap her?
They seriously underestimate her.
The night outside gradually became obscured by dark clouds, and the room fell back into darkness. In the darkness, a person’s senses are magnified several times over.
Even with his eyes closed, Liu Ye’s hearing became sharper, able to catch the faint "squeaking" friction sounds coming from the cage beside him.
He frowned, yet made no attempt to stop it.
Shen Tang engaged in her little schemes while secretly observing the man’s actions, noticing he lay still on the bed, as if he hadn’t heard anything.
Was he really asleep?
She tried to make her movements a bit louder.
Still no reaction from his side.
Suddenly, Shen Tang recalled Liu Ye’s external injuries. Drinking some potion could heal them, but he still suffered from serious internal injuries.
Those internal injuries were inflicted by himself, and quite ruthlessly at that, likely not easy to recover from.
He seemed so indifferent, yet was probably enduring it all along.
But what did that have to do with her!
Shen Tang wouldn’t care about him, much less help him heal.
So she didn’t dwell on it any longer, focusing intently on biting the chains.
But soon, a pang of pain unexpectedly surfaced in her own body.
