Her Birthday His Forbidden Desire novel Chapter 9

**Twilight Carves Destinies by George Orwell**

**Chapter 9**

Victoria stood before me, her face a swollen mess of shock and disbelief, her hands instinctively rising to shield her features.

“You…” she stammered, her voice barely a whisper, laced with a mix of fear and defiance.

Before she could utter another word, I struck her again, the sound echoing through the sterile hospital room like a thunderclap. “Have you said enough? You’re the one who brought those auction people into our lives, aren’t you? As a woman, how could you betray your own kind like this?”

Her laughter rang out, smug and arrogant, slicing through the tension in the air. “Not all women are the same, Stella. I wanted to see you humiliated, to watch Ethan toss you aside like yesterday’s trash!”

When I had first stumbled upon her collection of intimate photographs, a pang of envy had twisted in my gut. My husband of five years wouldn’t even take a single candid shot of me, yet he was ready to abandon every principle he held dear for her.

But as I stood there, the realization washed over me like a cleansing wave: once I had stopped caring about Ethan, the allure of those photos faded into insignificance.

In fact, I felt a strange sense of gratitude for having unmasked his true, ugly nature sooner rather than later.

Drawing in a deep breath, I steadied my resolve. “Well, now you’ve gotten your wish fulfilled. I’m going to file for divorce from Ethan and hand you the title of Mrs. Rivers.”

Victoria’s eyes widened, a flicker of genuine surprise flashing across her features, quickly followed by a barely restrained glee. “Really?” she asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and excitement.

I nodded, my gaze shifting toward Ryan, who was approaching with purposeful strides. “I need you to assist me with one more thing—sue her,” I instructed, my tone leaving no room for argument.

Instantly, the color drained from Victoria’s face, leaving her looking like a ghost. “What are you trying to do? Why would you sue me? Are you out of your mind?”

Using a woman’s dignity and privacy as weapons for revenge—she had crossed a line that stripped her of her humanity.

Such filth deserved to be discarded.

Ryan nodded, his demeanor calm and collected. “The evidence is irrefutable. This minor issue won’t require much effort on our part.”

Ethan froze, the color draining from his face, his eyes turning a fiery red. “It doesn’t matter. I just wanted to make amends for all the wrongs I committed against you. I was impulsive, and that’s why…”

I couldn’t help but let out a mocking laugh. “Are you referring to the time you stripped me of my dignity or the night you shared a bed with Victoria?”

His expression morphed into one of shock and disbelief. “You… you know about that too?”

How could I not?

When I needed him the most, he was in the next room, lost in another woman’s embrace.

“Stella, you have to let me explain! I was just caught up in the moment. I had no idea you were in pain. If I had known, I would have…”

I interrupted him, amusement dancing in my voice, “If you had known I could hear you, you would have simply postponed your little rendezvous to another day?”

“Enough! There’s no point in discussing this further. I just want to remind you that there’s no way we can return to what we once had. Please, just sign the divorce agreement so we can finally part ways.”
