If it were anyone else, stranded on this resource–starved garbage planet, with all connections to the outside world cut off, they would probably be driven straight into despair.

But Elizabeth was not just anyone.

She took a deep breath and forced down the anger rising in her chest. Then, she said to Erin, “Go gather everyone. Tell them I have something important to announce.”

Very quickly, everyone currently working on the farm–except the Black Rats and Scarfaceface’s group–assembled.

When Elizabeth calmly announced that the recycling station would be withdrawn in ten days, a wave of unease immediately spread through the crowd.

Panic moved like a silent tide, creeping into every pair of eyes.

Almost instinctively, they all turned to look at her–the one who had helped them eat their fill, the one who had given them hope- as if she were their only lifeline.

Just as the atmosphere began to stiffen, Tiffany stepped forward.

Her gaze swept across the uneasy crowd, her voice sharp and clear. “Everyone! The withdrawal of the recycling station is a problem that all of us on Planet A001 must face, not just something for Ms. Schofield to deal with alone. What she’s done for us is kindness, not obligation. She has every right to decide whether she stays or leaves. She shouldn’t be guilt–tripped into taking responsibility for something that was never hers!”

She paused, her tone growing firmer. “What we should be thinking about now is how to deal with this situation, not dumping all our hopes and pressure onto Ms. Schofield! She doesn’t owe us anything!”

Her words were like a bucket of cold water, snapping some people out of their unconscious dependence.

They looked at each other, shame and realization slowly appearing on their faces.

She was right. Ms. Schofield had already given them jobs and stability. They couldn’t just cling to her the moment things went

wrong.

Elizabeth watched their reactions, silently approving of Tiffany’s timely intervention.

Her choices–whether to stay or leave–would always be her own.

She wasn’t a savior, nor a saint. She didn’t have that kind of boundless compassion.

She gave them work not out of pity, but because it was a fair exchange.

Her gaze swept across every face, making sure there was no blind dependence or silent pleas left, before she finally spoke. “There’s no need to panic too much. According to the notice, the kingdom may send people later to relocate everyone. If you want to leave and try your luck elsewhere, you can go with the relocation team when the time comes.”

Silence fell over the group.

No one seemed excited by this so–called “good news.”

Elizabeth met her gaze, then looked at everyone watching her. “My farm is here,” she said firmly. “I’m not leaving”
