Chapter 157 Hope
With a bit of hope, Jared made the call again.
This time, the line only rang twice before it connected.

Erin appeared on the holographic screen. She seemed to be in a bright place, though the background looked simple and plain. But her face–she was smiling in a way Jared had never seen before. Full of life.
“Mr. Whitman, hello!” Erin’s voice was clear, with a hint of surprise.
“Erin, I finally reached you!” Jared let out a breath of relief and quickly asked, “I heard you went into exile with Tyson? Why did you go to the Garbage Planet? How are you now? Are you adjusting? Do you need any help?”
Even though Erin knew this might just be a polite concern from a boss, hearing it still warmed her heart.
Back then, she was always busy trying to survive. She kept quiet at work and rarely talked to
anyone.
But now, she was learning to accept kindness–and respond to it.
“Thank you for your concern!” Erin smiled even brighter. “Tyson and I are doing great. Better than ever!”
Since arriving on Planet A001, the environment might not be great, but it gave them something new–hope.
Now, they worked every day with everyone else. They earned money with their own hands.
Half of what they made each day went toward buying potatoes as their main food. The other half, they saved.
Most importantly, because they could eat that special kind of potato every day, Tyson’s mental condition had clearly improved.
In the latest test, his damage level had dropped by several percentage points. The numbers were getting better day by day.
As Jared listened to her lively voice and saw her healthy glow and bright eyes, his worry slowly faded. In its place came surprise.
It felt like Erin had become a completely different person. She was no longer that quiet girl who always looked a little sad and careful.

“That’s great!” Jared said sincerely, happy for her.
After a bit of small talk, he finally got to the point. A little embarrassed, he asked, “Erin, I have something I want to ask. Could you help me check with your friend–the one who sent you those potatoes? Where did they buy them? I spent days on Centria Planet searching everywhere, but I couldn’t find anything like them. It’s been driving me crazy.”
The moment he finished speaking, Erin let out a soft laugh.
“Mr. Whitman,” she said, her voice a little playful, “do you know where I am right now?”
Jared looked confused. “Didn’t you say you were exiled to the Garbage Planet?”
“Tyson and I are on Planet A001,” Erin repeated clearly.
“Planet A001?” Jared frowned right away. “There are so many Exile Planets. Even if conditions are bad everywhere, Planet A001 is one of the worst–almost no resources, terrible environment. Did you offend someone? Is that why you were sent there?”
Not long ago, he had even heard that the company’s upper management was discussing shutting down the recycling station on Planet A001.
There weren’t many resources there, so very few people chose to go. The station had been losing money for a long time.
But since Elizabeth was also there, they hadn’t made a final decision yet. Still, it was only a matter of time.
Beside him, Grace’s eyes suddenly lit up.
She slapped Jared’s arm and said excitedly, “Jared–Planet A001! That’s where those potatoes came from!”
Jared froze, still trying to process it.
On the other end, Erin heard Grace and laughed as she confirmed, “That’s right. Grace is correct. This is exactly where those magical potatoes are grown–Planet A001!”
Jared’s mind went blank.
He stared at the screen, mouth open in shock. “You mean you found those potatoes on Planet A001?”
“Yep! Not only did we find them, we’re helping grow them too,” Erin said proudly, as if she had taken part in something amazing.
