Chapter 167 No Next Time
“Next time? There won’t be a next time!” Zaylee snapped, her chest heaving with anger. “Trevor, you’re done for! Starting today, you’re sleeping in the study for a month! No, make that two!”
Trevor’s face instantly fell, but he didn’t dare fight back in the slightest. He could only mutter under his breath, “Two months… that’s way too long…”
Right then, Trevor’s private communicator chose the worst possible moment to ring. On the screen, the name “Oliver” flashed bright and clear.
Trevor’s eyelid twitched. He had a bad feeling about this.
He was just about to hang up when Zaylee shot him a razor–sharp look. Left with no choice, he answered with a stiff face.
Oliver’s rugged face popped up on the holographic screen at once.
His voice boomed, still buzzing with excitement. “Commander Hewitt! Those strawberries, sweet potatoes, and potatoes you had sent over earlier were insane! So damn good! I barely got a taste before my wife confiscated the whole stash! Commander Hewitt, you got any more left? Spare me a little, will you?”
Trevor was already in a foul mood from getting “sentenced” to sleep in the study. Hearing that just made it worse. He snapped, “No! Not a damn scrap! My whole stock got cleaned out by you hungry wolves! All you people do every day is eat. Can you think about anything besides food for once?”
Oliver was the blunt type. He didn’t catch the frustration in the commander’s tone at all. Instead, he got even more fired up. “Think about something else? Like what, Commander Hewitt? I’m telling you, that stuff wasn’t just tasty! After I ate it, my mental power felt way calmer. That tight, strained feeling disappeared! That was a treasure, no question! Commander Hewitt, how about you tell me where you bought it? I’ll go buy it myself, and if I get some, I’ll split it with you. Deal?”
Trevor had been sulking a second ago, but hearing that somehow put him in a good mood. Pride started bubbling up in his chest.
He cleared his throat, lifted his chin a little, and said in a tone dripping with smugness, “Buy it?
You can’t.”
Oliver froze. “Why not? Don’t tell me some store’s trying to corner the market again. Commander Hewitt, just tell me who it is. I’ll take people over there right now and shut them down. Let’s see if they still dare pull that monopoly crap!”
Trevor was so frustrated by his words that he almost laughed. “Shut it down? Go ahead and try!

It’s from my daughter–in–law’s place! Got the guts? Then touch it and see what happens!”

“What? Daugh… daughter–in–law?” Oliver went completely blank, his eyes wide with confusion. “Commander Hewitt… y–you… when did you get a daughter–in–law? How come I didn’t know…
He didn’t even finish before the screen suddenly started shaking.
Then came Oliver’s yelp as a hand shot in from the side and pinched his ear with perfect
accuracy.
Melinda appeared on the screen with an apologetic smile, repeatedly bowing her head to Trevor. “Commander Hewitt, I’m so sorry, so sorry! Please don’t stoop to this idiot’s level. He was born with a few screws loose and never knows what to say!”
She shoved her grimacing husband aside and leaned toward the camera herself, curiosity shining all over her face. “Commander Hewitt, you just said those strawberries, sweet potatoes, and potatoes came from your daughter–in–law’s place? Is it… is it the Schofields?”
The moment Trevor heard “the Schofields,” all he could think of was the garbage that family had pulled. Irritation rose in him at once. “What Schofields? This has nothing to do with the Schofiel Those strawberries, sweet potatoes, and potatoes were all grown by my daughter–in-
with her own hands! She grew them right on Planet A001!”
Oliver and Melinda gasped at the same time, both staring so hard their eyes wider than before.
g anything on Planet A001 was already almost impossible.
And growing crops of that quality? That was a fantasy.
Right after ending the call with Oliver, before Trevor could even brag to Zaylee about how stunned his subordinate had been, his communicator rang again. This time, it was Jacob.
Jacob’s tone was much smoother. First, he circled around with some polite concern for the commander’s health.
Then he casually brought up those “unforgettable” strawberries, sweet potatoes,
and potatoes.
Finally, he started whining about headaches and insomnia, saying life would be so much better if he could just eat a little more strawberry, sweet potato, and potato.
Trevor was so shamelessly worked by that act he nearly laughed from pure disbelief.
He snorted. “Gone, they were all gone. They were grown by my daughter–in–law herself on Planet A001. There was ch to begin with, so what do you want me to do?”
From the oth
graphic screen, Jacob was clearly just as shaken by the
