Chapter 95 You’re a Good Person
Although his words sounded cruel, they came from a practical place.
In this era, children themselves were already rare. Deep down, most people still felt a natural sense and hesitation when it came to young kids.
However, the little boy shook his head hard, tears spilling even more fiercely.
Yet his gaze was strangely resolute. His small hands clutched the edge of the stretcher tightly. His vo trembled with sobs, but he refused to back down. “No! I want to stay with my mom! Wherever she i where I’ll be!”
Seeing that the child could not be persuaded, the uniformed officer shook his head helplessly.
Taking a step back, he tried to offer a relatively “better” option. “You stubborn kid… Fine. How about There happens to be a transport ship this afternoon heading to Planet T256. T256 is also a garbage p but the environment is much better than A001. At least there’s some basic order there, and sometim relief supplies arrive. You two should go to Planet T256. At the very least… you might be able to last a longer there.”
This was already the greatest kindness and flexibility he could offer within the limits of his authority.
To his surprise, the little boy did not immediately accept what appeared to be the “better” arrangeme
He lifted his tearful eyes and first looked at his mother on the stretcher, who was writhing in pain and barely conscious. Then his gaze shifted to Elizabeth, who stood nearby.
Those eyes, washed clean by tears, held trust far beyond his years and a kind of desperate determinatio that left nothing held back.
He wiped the tears and snot from his face with force. Then he turned to the uniformed officer and spol in a clear, steady voice.
“Thank you. But… I’ll listen to this lady.” He paused, then said each word carefully. “My mom and I want go to Planet A001.”
Elizabeth was slightly stunned.
She had not even said anything yet, and the child had already chosen to trust her without hesitation.
Was he not afraid that she might trick him and sell him somewhere?
Elizabeth thought about it and asked him the question.
The boy stared at her with wide eyes, his expression completely serious. “You saved me. You’re a good person.”
Elizabeth reached out and rubbed his head. “Alright. Then let me be your good person for a bit. When you get to Planet A001, don’t wander around. Wait at the garbage recycling station. Someone will come pick
you up.”

The officer was speechless.
He truly could not understand why the child was so stubborn, insisting on choosing the path with th hope.
He opened his mouth, still wanting to say something, but when he saw the boy’s eyes, still wet yet fil with unwavering determination, the words turned into a heavy sigh. He waved his hand and signale subordinates to continue carrying the stretcher forward.
“Alright… Since this is your own choice, register it. Destination: Garbage Planet A001.”
After Humus bought the potatoes, he did not return to the Salazar Mansionright away.
Instead, he went to a service point of the Interstellar Express Delivery.
People moved constantly through the place. Packages was stacked everywhere, and busy robots hurri around transporting goods.
Standing in front of a self–service terminal, Humus squinted with his aging, blurry eyes while operati the glowing screen.
His fingers trembled slightly because of old injuries that had never fully healed. Even so, he carefully yped several long–forgotten addresses into the recipient field, one after another.
These addresses belonged to his former army mates.
They were men who, like him, had bled on the battlefield and been wounded. In the end, whether due physical disabilities or damage to their mental power, they had all been forced to quietly leave the army
When everyone first parted ways, they had promised to stay in contact and support one another.
But time passed, reality weighed heavily on each of them, and everyone carried hardships they could ne easily speak about. Gradually, the contact faded away.
After so many years, he no longer even knew whether those old mates were still alive, whether they still lived in the same place, or what kind of lives they were living now.
“Marcus, the most hot–tempered assault trooper. When we retreated, he used his own body to block the Swarmborns‘ acid spray so the rest of us could escape…
“Damian. He was only 18 back then. Such a promising reconnaissance scout. During an infiltration mission, he stepped on a Psychic Shock Mine. When he came back, half his mind was already gone…
“And Nolan. The tech specialist. His ship was shot down. He survived, but the nerves in his spine were damaged, and he could never stand again…
One familiar face and code name after another flashed through Humus’s mind. They carried the smell of gunpowder and the bold spirit of youth, but in the end, they all turned into silent sighs of deep concern.
He carefully divided the potatoes into several portions, each containing more than 20.
