Chapter 29
I continued my descent and reached the fifth floor.
The monster on this floor was a college girl with pink hair.
She was still wearing her graduation gown.
Her door was unlocked, so I walked right in.
She sat upright in the center of the tower, posture perfect, like a student rapt with attention during a lecture.
When she saw me, her eyes locked onto my red dress and the weapons I carried.
She offered a faint, sad smile.
“Are you here to kill me? Go ahead.”
I frowned.
I hid my weapons and buttoned my coat over the red dress.
I sat down next to her on the floor.
“Let’s talk,” I said, like an old friend catching up. “Tell me your story.”
She looked at me in surprise.
After a long silence, she smiled-a smile of release-and began to speak.
She told me she had dyed her hair pink to celebrate her graduation.
She had taken her diploma to the hospital to take a picture with her bedridden grandfather and posted it online to
share her joy.
But the internet turned on her.
People spread rumors that she was sleeping with the old man, accusing her of being a ‘sugar baby’.
They called her names.
If they had only attacked her, she might have survived it.
But they went to the hospital
They sent funeral wreaths to her grandfather while he was still alive, wishing death upon him.
The girl couldn’t take it anymore.

In a trance of despair, she swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills.
After she died, a mysterious force pulled her here..
It forced her to become a monster NPC and ordered her to slaughter human players.
She hugged her knees and wept, tears streaming down her face.
“I don’t want to kill anyone. I’m a terrible monster.”
